Yellice (Kurdish : Batran) is a village in the Kurtalan District of Siirt Province in Turkey. [2] The village is populated by Kurds and had a population of 313 in 2021. [1] [3]
The village formerly adhered to Yazidism but converted to Islam in the late 19th century with the guidance of Sheikh Abdulkahhâr from nearby Zokayd. After the conversion, a mosque was built, commissioned by Sultan Abdul Hamid II. A madrasa was also built which would educate many scholars. [4]
