Yoram Elron(born 24 February,1960) is an Israeli diplomat who has been the Israeli Ambassador to Bulgaria from August 2019,until August 2023. [1]
Yoram Elron served in the IDF between 1978 and 1981,in the artillery corps as an NCO in the Northern Command as well as an instructor in the artillery main training base.
Prior to joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,he worked at the Government Press Office,as coordinator for foreign media.
Before his appointment as Ambassador to Bulgaria,Yoram Elron held the position of Deputy Director General for Africa between 2015 and 2019. During his tenure,diplomatic relations between Israel and Chad were reestablished.
From 2012 until 2015,he was a “Roving Ambassador”to Madagascar,the Democratic Republic of Congo,the Republic of Congo and Gabon,Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Elron has also served as Consul General to Quebec and the Atlantic Provinces of Canada while concurrently serving as the Permanent Representative of Israel to the International Civil Aviation Organization (2007 - 2011) [1]
From 2000 - 2003,he was Ambassador of Israel to Cameroon, [2] the Central African Republic,Gabon,Equatorial Guinea and the Republic of Congo. [1]
He previously also held the position of First Secretary in the Israeli Mission to the European Union in Brussels (1992-1996) and Counselor at the Embassy in Copenhagen (1999-2000).
He is married to Vered and father to Dori and Inbar.

Yoram Ben-Zeev is an Israeli diplomat and former Israeli ambassador to Germany. Born in the Palestine Mandate on 20 July 1944—the date of the attempted assassination of Adolf Hitler,a fact described as symbolic by Ulrich W. Sahm of haGalil—he served as a lieutenant in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in the 1967 Six-Day War,in which he was wounded. He subsequently obtained a BA (1970) in international relations and took graduate studies (1972) in Middle Eastern studies and political science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. After some years working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in embassies in Manila and Hong Kong,he was adviser to the president from 1987 to 1993. After this he took on diplomat roles involving the Middle East and North America,before he was appointed Israeli ambassador to Germany in 2007,replacing Shimon Stein. He said one of his goals of his ambassadorship is to deepen relations between Israel and the European Union,and to improve relations with the German public—the European peoples most critical of Israel according to surveys. He is married to Iris and has three children.
