Ysgol Gymraeg Ystalyfera Bro Dur is a Welsh-medium comprehensive school in Neath Port Talbot, Wales. [1] The school provides education to three to eighteen-year-old pupils in Neath Port Talbot and south Powys from three campuses in Ystalyfera and Port Talbot.

History

It was founded in 1969 as Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera (Ystalyfera Secondary School), on the site of the former Ystalyfera Grammar School. [2] In 2017 the school merged with Ysgol Gynradd y Wern primary school to form an all-age school for ages three to eighteen. [3] In September 2018 the Bro Dur ('Steel Land') campus opened in Port Talbot, [4] which operates alongside the primary and secondary school campuses in Ystalyfera. [5] A second Welsh-medium comprehensive campus named Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bro Dur was opened, it is also referred to as Ystalyfera South.

Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf State school in Cardiff, Wales

Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf is a Welsh-medium coeducational secondary school in Llandaff North, a district in the north of Cardiff, Wales; it is the largest of its kind in the country. Of the three Welsh-medium secondary schools serving Cardiff, it was the first to be established; the others are Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Plasmawr and Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bro Edern. The school closed in July 2016 to facilitate the merger of Glan Afan itself, Dyffryn Comprehensive, Sandfields Comprehensive, Cwrt Sart Comprehensive, and Traethmelyn Primary School into the ultra-modern £40millon 'super-school', Ysgol Bae Baglan.

Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Bryn Tawe is a Welsh-language comprehensive school based in Penlan, Swansea, southwest Wales. It opened in 2003 to complement Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr and to provide additional capacity following the increased demand for Welsh-medium education in the area. Upon its opening, it held only its own fresh intake, taking none of Gwyr's existing pupils. As a result, the school only reached its full complement of years 7-11 with its fifth intake of September 2007. As of September 2012 it has approximately 900 pupils on roll.
