Geoffrey Haydn Moses (born 24 September 1952) is a Welsh classical singer and former first-class cricketer.
Moses was born in September 1952 at Mountain Ash,Glamorgan. He was educated at Ystalyfera Grammar School, [1] before going up to read history at Emmanuel College,Cambridge. [2] While studying at Cambridge,he played first-class cricket for Cambridge University Cricket Club in 1974,making three appearances. [3] He had one match of note,taking a five wicket haul in The University Match against Oxford University at Lord's. [4] In his three matches,he took a total of 9 wickets with his right-arm fast-medium bowling. [5] He also made a single List A one-day appearance for Cambridge in the 1974 Benson &Hedges Cup against Sussex at Hove, [6] taking the wickets of Geoff Greenidge and Mark Faber for the cost of 49 runs from 11 overs,with Sussex winning the match by 186 runs. [7]
After graduating from Cambridge,he taught at Charterhouse School. He subsequently trained to become an operatic baritone singer at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under Bryan Drake; [8] he later privately studied under Otakar Kraus. Moses has sung with all the major British opera companies,including The Royal Opera,the Welsh National Opera,as well as performing at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera. [2] His discography includes Fotis in The Greek Passion conducted by Mackerras (1981),Ceprano in Rigoletto conducted by Sinopoli (1985),Hans Schwarz in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg conducted by Haitink (1997) and Sancho in The Contrabandista under Corp (2004).
Derbyshire County Cricket Club in 1990 represents the cricket season when the English club Derbyshire won the Refuge Assurance League winning twelve of their sixteen matches. The club had been playing for one hundred and nineteen years. In the County Championship,they won six matches to finish twelfth in their eighty-sixth season in the Championship. They were eliminated in round 2 of the National Westminster Bank Trophy and at group level in the Benson &Hedges Cup.
Derbyshire County Cricket Club in 1997 was the cricket season when the English club Derbyshire had been playing for one hundred and twenty-six years. In the County Championship,they won two matches to finish sixteenth in their ninety fourth season in the Championship. They came fourteenth in the AXA Life League and did not progress from the group in the National Westminster Bank Trophy. They reached the semi-final of the Benson &Hedges Cup.

Norman Michael McVicker was an English cricketer. Having failed to establish himself with either Lancashire or Derbyshire,where he had trialled,McVicker initially played county cricket at minor counties cricket level for Lincolnshire. His performances in minor counties cricket were noticed by Warwickshire,who signed him at the age of 28 in 1969. He played five seasons with Warwickshire,winning the 1972 County Championship and taking 300 first-class wickets. He was released by Warwickshire at the end of the 1973 season and subsequently played for Leicestershire for three seasons from 1974–1976,winning both the County Championship and Benson &Hedges Cup in 1975. He retired at the end of the 1976 season,but came out of retirement in 1977 to play one-day cricket for Leicestershire,before retiring again at the end of that season.
