Yö (English: night) is a Finnish rock band, formed in 1981 in Pori.
The band has had many line-up changes during their history, and almost 20 different musicians play or have played with the band. Yö's first line-up included singer Olli Lindholm and composer, singer and keyboardist Jussi Hakulinen, guitarist Jani Viitanen, bassist Juha Rauäng and drummer Harri Varhala. Since the late 1980s band has been more or less based in Tampere.
Yö's biggest hits include songs like Joutsenlaulu (Swansong), Likaiset legendat (Dirty Legends), Ihmisen poika (Son of a Human), Rakkaus on lumivalkoinen (Love is Snow-White), Särkynyt enkeli (Broken Angel), and Tia-Maria (a Finnish woman's name). The group started with punk rock influenced music but later moved towards mainstream rock. Yö is Finland's 10th best-selling music artist of all time with two multi-platinum, two double-platinum, six platinum and five gold records. [1]
After singer and bandleader Olli Lindholm's sudden death in February 2019, it became doubtful as to whether the band will continue playing.

Dingo is a Finnish rock band formed around 1982. Their style fused Finnish melancholy with catchy rock melodies. The band was led by the frontman Pertti Neumann. For a few years at its peak, Dingo was one of the most popular Finnish rock bands and caused a phenomenon called "Dingomania" all over Finland.
Catamenia is a Finnish black metal band founded in 1995 by Riku Hopeakoski and Mika Tönning in Oulu. They have been signed to Massacre Records since their first full-length release Halls of Frozen North in 1998. As of 2010, they have released nine albums, one EP, and one DVD. They are known for frequent usage of wolves in their album art, but the band is named after a kind of bird. Catamenia also means "menstruation", which the band did not know until a fan pointed it out to them after the release of their debut album.
Omnium Gatherum is a six-piece melodic death metal band from Finland, founded in the autumn of 1996. Although the band mainly follows the path of the melodic death metal genre, much of their work shows strong influences from progressive metal, especially their later albums. Their music is influenced by Gothenburg-style bands such as At the Gates, In Flames, Dissection, Dark Tranquillity, but also Iron Maiden, Death, Anathema and Megadeth among others.
YUP is a Finnish rock-music group. The band arose amongst three students of the Savonlinna senior high of arts in 1987 and played some rather primitive, progressive hard-core punk with English lyrics. Originally the group consisted of Jarkko Martikainen (guitar), Valtteri Tynkkynen and Jussi Hyyrynen (drums).

Popeda is a Finnish rock band hailing from Tampere and one of the staples of Manserock. SIG was a pop band from Raisio, Finland, formed in 1978. The lead singer of the band was Matti Inkinen. The breakthrough song SIG was "Tiina menee naimisiin" . The most famous songs from SIG are “Vuosisadan rakkaustarina“ and “Hyvää syntymäpäivää“. Original SIG broke down in 1987. The comeback album of SIG was "Suomalainen pop-levy". The lead singer of SIG Matti Inkinen died in 2009.

Pulu is the 1998 debut album of Ismo Alanko Säätiö. The newly formed band's sound has influences from Finnish folk music. An important part of the album's sound is reputed accordionist Kimmo Pohjonen. Pulu reached number one on the Finnish album charts.

Jussi Pekka Hakulinen was a Finnish musician and singer-songwriter. He was one of the original members of the group Yö, one of the best-selling rock bands in Finland. Hakulinen left the band for solo career in 1985 after two platinum selling albums. Since 1990, Hakulinen was an occasional visitor to Yö's concerts and also wrote material for the band. His songs Joutsenlaulu (1984) and Rakkaus on lumivalkoinen (2003), recorded by Yö, have been voted as the greatest Finnish pop songs in several listeners polls.
