Zack Bernbaum is a Canadian film director from Toronto, Ontario. [1]

A graduate of the film studies program at Ryerson University, he founded his own production company, Ezeqial Productions, early in his career. [2] He named the company for his Hebrew name, Yechezkel (Ezekiel), but opted to change the spelling for artistic reasons as he did not want his films to be perceived as religiously themed. [2]

He directed his feature debut, And Now a Word from Our Sponsor , in 2013, [3] and followed up in 2015 with Cold Deck . [4]

In 2018 he released The Dancing Dogs of Dombrova , [1] which won the awards for Best Film and Best Director at the 2019 Canadian Film Festival. [5]

He has also directed the short films So Soon Forgotten (2009), Captive Love (2016) and The Announcement (2020).

As of 2020, he had two future film projects, Cut for Stone and (An)other, in development. [2]

Gallo plays a compulsive gambler who, after a losing streak, accepts an offer by a local underworld figure (Sorvino) to rob a high stakes poker game hosted by a rich banker (Knepper).

<i>Cold War</i> (2018 film) 2018 film by Paweł Pawlikowski

Cold War is a 2018 historical drama film directed by Paweł Pawlikowski, who co-wrote the screenplay with Janusz Głowacki and Piotr Borkowski. It is an international co-production by producers in Poland, France and the United Kingdom. Set in Poland and France during the Cold War from the late 1940s until the 1960s, the story follows a musical director who discovers a young singer, exploring their subsequent love story over the years. The film, which was loosely inspired by the lives of Pawlikowski's parents, also features Borys Szyc, Agata Kulesza, Cédric Kahn and Jeanne Balibar in supporting roles.

The Dancing Dogs of Dombrova is a Canadian comedy-drama film, directed by Zack Bernbaum and released in 2018. The film stars Katherine Fogler and Douglas Nyback as Sarah and Aaron Cotler, Jewish Canadian siblings who are travelling together to their grandmother's hometown of Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland, to fulfill her dying wish of being reunited with the cremated remains of her dead childhood dog.
