Zahreela (The Poisonous) is a 2001 Indian Hindi-language thriller film directed by Raj Sippy, starring Mithun Chakraborty in the lead role. Zahreela is Unofficial remake of Hollywood Movie Cape Fear.

Plot

Arun Dev (Om Puri) is a famous criminal lawyer who always tries to plead against criminals. He lives happily with his wife Nisha (Kashmera Shah), sister Pooja (Shalini Kapoor) and his friend Kartar Singh (Gulshan Grover) . Before few years he fight in court against an hardcore criminal Dushyant Kumar (Mithun Chakraborty) in a rape trial and sent him into the prison. After releasing from jail Dushyant started to take revenge to Arun's family. Dushyant befriended with his sister Pooja after creating a fake act by saving her from goons and threat Arun but Arun make her aware about Dushyant. Dushyant continuously stalks and scares Arun's family life without leaving any evidence. He also kills Kartar Singh while Kartar tried to protest him. Helpless Arun goes to police but all in vein. Soon afterwards Dushyant kidnaps Arun's sister and his wife and takes them into a graveyard where he throws off Pooja inside of a grave and tries to rape her, Nisha takes help from other mens and tries to stop him but he beats all of them, soon Arun arrives there to rescue them but he is brutally beaten by Dushyant living him unconscious. Pooja tries to escape but again thrown into the graveyard, tears her cloths and when Dushyant is about to rape her, Arun comebacks with a Cross of Sacrifice sign and stabs on Dushyant's back, living fatally injured, Dushyant eventually dies there and fells off into the open grave. The movie ends with Arun finally reuniting with his family while their housemaid Chandu (Asrani) informs he is training for Cricket to play in World Cup
