Zain Khan Durrani is an Indian actor and poet, known for Mukhbir - The Story of a Spy, Bell Bottom (2021 film), and Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz . [1]

Early life and education

Durrani was born in the Bagh e Mehtab suburb of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India into a Kashmiri family of Pashtun origin . He went to Burn Hall School, later joined Delhi Public School and graduated from Zakir Hussain College, Delhi University. He did stage acting at school, and has written poetry. [2]

Career

Recently seen in the acclaimed series Mukhbir - The Story of a Spy 2022, where Zain played the lead as Harfan Bukhari. The series was very well received by the critics and audience alike. In 2017, Durrani worked the clapperboard for the film Shab. In 2018 Zain debuted to acquire a cult fan-base with his lead role as Alfaaz in the movie Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz.

Zain also appeared as a radio jockey on the programme Lamhey with Zain on Big 92.7 FM. [3] In 2020 he played Lateef in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's film Shikara. He also played the role of hijacker Daljeet Singh Dodi in Bell Bottom 2021.

Sadia Khateeb is an Indian actress who works in Hindi films. She made her acting debut with Vidhu Vinod Chopra's film Shikara (2020) for which she received Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut nomination. Khateeb has since starred in Raksha Bandhan (2022).

Mukhbir – The Story of a Spy is an Indian spy-thriller original series directed by Shivam Nair and Jayprad Desai and produced by Vaibhav Modi under the banner of Victor Tango Entertainment. The series is the adaptation of the retired Joint Director of the Intelligence Bureau Maloy Krishna Dhar's novel, Mission to Pakistan: An Intelligence Agent in Pakistan and stars Zain Khan Durrani, Prakash Raj, Adil Hussain, Barkha Bisht, Harsh Chhaya, Satyadeep Mishra, Bijou Thaangjam and Zoya Afroz in the pivotal roles. The plot follows a secret agent who led India to evade several aggressive advances from the enemy country by providing intelligence and by helping India in 1965 war and give a befitting reply to Pakistan 's Operation Gibraltar and Operation Grand Slam maneuvres. The series released on ZEE5 on 11 November 2022.

12th Fail is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language biographical drama film directed, produced and written by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. It is based on the 2019 eponymous non-fiction book by Anurag Pathak about Manoj Kumar Sharma, who overcame extreme poverty to become an Indian Police Service officer. The film stars Vikrant Massey as Sharma, alongside Medha Shankar, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee.
