Durrani was born in the Bagh e Mehtab suburb of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India into a Kashmiri family. He studied at Burn Hall School, and Delhi Public School and graduated from Zakir Hussain College, Delhi University. He did stage acting in school, and has written poetry. [2]
Zain was seen in the acclaimed 2022 series Mukhbir - The Story of a Spy, where he played the lead as Harfan Bukhari. The series was very well received by the critics and audience alike. In 2017, Durrani worked the clapperboard for the film Shab. In 2018 Zain debuted to acquire a cult fan-base with his lead role as Alfaaz in the movie Kuchh Bheege Alfaaz.
Zain was a radio jockey on the programme Lamhey with Zain on Big 92.7 FM. [3] In 2020 he played Lateef in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's film Shikara. He also played the role of hijacker Daljeet Singh Dodi in the 2021 film Bell Bottom.

Srinagar is a city in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir in the disputed Kashmir region. Zuni Chopra is an Indian author best known for her novel, The House That Spoke. She has also authored three other books. Chopra is the daughter of filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra and journalist Anupama Chopra. One of her poems titled, The Mountain Range, that talked about the exam pressure on students, was well received in the Indian media. She is set to major in creative writing at Stanford University in September 2019. Zuni was shortlisted for Young Author Awards 2018.

Mukhbir – The Story of a Spy is an Indian spy-thriller original series directed by Shivam Nair and Jayprad Desai and produced by Vaibhav Modi under the banner of Victor Tango Entertainment. The series is the adaptation of the retired Joint Director of the Intelligence Bureau Maloy Krishna Dhar's novel, Mission to Pakistan: An Intelligence Agent in Pakistan and stars Zain Khan Durrani, Prakash Raj, Adil Hussain, Barkha Bisht, Harsh Chhaya, Satyadeep Mishra, Bijou Thaangjam and Zoya Afroz in the pivotal roles. The plot follows a secret agent who led India in evading several aggressive advances from the enemy country by providing intelligence and helping India in 1965 war give a befitting reply to Pakistan's Operation Gibraltar and Operation Grand Slam manoeuvres. The series released on ZEE5 on 11 November 2022.
12th Fail is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language biographical drama film directed, produced and written by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. It is based on the 2019 eponymous non-fiction book by Anurag Pathak about Manoj Kumar Sharma, who overcame extreme poverty to become an Indian Police Service officer. The film stars Vikrant Massey as Sharma, alongside Medha Shankr, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar and Priyanshu Chatterjee.
