Zak Hill (born September 14, 1979) is an American football coach who was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Arizona State University. He was also previously the offensive coordinator at Boise State University.
A native of Battle Ground, Washington, Hill played quarterback at Central Washington University from 1999 to 2003, where he threw for over 8,000 yards and 76 touchdowns in his career. [1] He was a third-team All-American in 2002, where he led Central Washington to an 11–1 record. He graduated from Central Washington in 2004 with a degree in school health education. [2]
Hill began his coaching career at Eastern Washington in 2004, where he worked as a student assistant for two years. He left Eastern Washington to be the offensive coordinator at Hillsboro High School in Oregon. He was promoted to head coach in 2008, leading the Spartans to a 6–5 record and a playoff berth in the state's Class 5A playoffs. [2] He left Hillsboro to rejoin Eastern Washington as the team's passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He served in that role for 6 years before leaving for Hawaii. [3]
Hill was hired to be the next offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the University of Hawaii in 2016. [1] [3] However, Hill resigned after 48 days to accept a position with Boise State as their new co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He left at a crucial point in recruiting, leaving Hawaii just seven days before high school athletes could sign their letters of intent. [4]
Hill was hired by Boise State in 2016, sharing offensive coordinator duties with Scott Huff and coaching quarterbacks. [5] After Huff left to be the run game coordinator and offensive line coach at Washington, Hill was promoted to the sole offensive coordinator. [6]
Hill was named the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Arizona State in December 2019, replacing Rob Likens. [7] [8] [9] Hill resigned January 28, 2022 as OC amid the NCAA investigation into the football program’s recruiting practices during the Covid dead period.
Hill was hired to replace Jason Mohns, who took a coaching role at Arizona State.Saguaro finished 6-5 on the regular season and finished with a 6A state championship.
Dirk Jeffrey Koetter is an American football coach who is currently the offensive coordinator at Boise State University. He was the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL) from 2016 to 2018 and was the head coach at Boise State from 1998 to 2000 and at Arizona State University from 2001 to 2006, compiling a career college football record of 66–44 (.600). Koetter also served as the offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Buccaneers.
Dennis Brian Erickson is an American football coach who most recently served as the head coach for the Salt Lake Stallions of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) league. He was also the head coach at the University of Idaho, the University of Wyoming (1986), Washington State University (1987–1988), the University of Miami (1989–1994), Oregon State University (1999–2002), and Arizona State University (2007–2011). During his tenure at Miami, Erickson's teams won two national championships, in 1989 and 1991. His record as a college football head coach is 179–96–1 (.650).
Douglas Keith Nussmeier is an American football coach and former player who is the quarterbacks coach for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played professionally as a quarterback in the NFL and Canadian Football League (CFL). Nussmeier played college football for the Idaho Vandals football, winning the Walter Payton Award as the most outstanding offensive player in NCAA Division I-AA. He was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the fourth round of the 1994 NFL Draft. He finished his playing career with the CFL's BC Lions.
Andy Ludwig is an American football coach. He currently is the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach at the University of Utah. He played college football at Snow College and Portland State University, graduating in 1988.
Robert Anae is an American football coach and former player who is currently serving as the offensive coordinator (OC) for NC State since December 2022. Beau Daniel Baldwin is an American football coach and former player. He is the quarterbacks coach for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Previously, he was the head football coach for the Cal Poly Mustangs, a position he held from December 2019 to 2022. Baldwin previously served as the head football coach at Central Washington University in 2007 and at Eastern Washington University from 2008 to 2016. He led the 2010 Eastern Washington Eagles football team to an NCAA Division I Football Championship. Baldwin was the offensive coordinator for the California Golden Bears from 2017 to 2019 and for the Arizona State Sun Devils in 2023.
Bryan Dale Harsin is an American football coach who was most recently the head coach for the Auburn Tigers. Prior to coaching at Auburn, he coached the Boise State University Broncos from the 2014 season through the 2020 season where he posted a 69–19 overall record. He began his head coaching career at Arkansas State University for the 2013 season. Harsin was the co-offensive coordinator at the University of Texas for two seasons. Before leaving for Texas in 2011, Harsin was an assistant at Boise State for 10 seasons, the last five as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Matt Miller is an American football coach who is currently the wide receivers coach at Boise State University. He was previously the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Montana State University.
Brett Robert Rypien is a Canadian-American football quarterback for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Boise State Broncos and signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2019, and has also been a member of the Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets. He is the nephew of Super Bowl XXVI MVP quarterback Mark Rypien.
