Jeff Schmedding (born January 19, 1978) is an American football coach who is currently the defensive coordinator at Washington State University. He most recently served as the defensive coordinator and assistant head coach at Auburn University. He has previously served as the defensive coordinator for Boise State University.

Coaching career

Schmedding began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at his alma mater Eastern Washington. Schmedding would serve numerous roles for the team including coaching special teams, safeties and linebackers before becoming the defensive coordinator for Eastern Washington in 2015. In 2019, he was hired by Bryan Harsin to serve as the defensive coordinator for Boise State. In 2021, when Harsin left Boise State for Auburn, he hired Schmedding to coach linebackers. [1] In 2022, Schmedding was named Auburn's defensive coordinator following the departure of Derek Mason. [2] Schmedding also served as Auburn's assistant head coach. [3] [4] Following Bryan Harsin's firing from Auburn midway through the 2022 season, Schmedding was the lone assistant brought by Harsin to Auburn that was retained by interim head coach Cadillac Williams. [5] Upon the hiring of Hugh Freeze it was announced that Schmedding would not be retained by Auburn. [6] In January 2023, Schmedding was named defensive coordinator at Washington State. [7]

Schmedding is married and has two sons. [8]

Bradley H. Bedell is a former American football guard in the National Football League (NFL) and current college football coach. He attended Mt. San Antonio College, where he played football under legendary Community College Coach Bill Fisk. He attended the University of Colorado, where he played college football. He was drafted in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. Bedell also played for the Miami Dolphins, Washington Redskins, Green Bay Packers, and the Houston Texans. After serving as the offensive line coach at Boise State, Bedell followed head coach Bryan Harsin to Auburn as the tight ends coach. Auburn fired Bedell on October 31, 2022, along with Harsin, offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau, and several other staffers.

Nicholas Eason is an American football coach and former defensive end who is currently the defensive tackles coach and run game coordinator at Clemson University. He previously served as an assistant coach for the Auburn Tigers, Cincinnati Bengals, Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns.

Bryan Dale Harsin is an American football coach who was most recently the head coach for the Auburn University Tigers. Prior to leading the Auburn Tigers, he coached the Boise State University Broncos from the 2014 season through the 2020 season where he posted a 69–19 overall record while at Boise. He began his head coaching career at Arkansas State University for the 2013 season. Harsin was the co-offensive coordinator at the University of Texas for two seasons where he played a major impact in the teams development on that side. Before leaving for Texas in 2011, Harsin was an assistant at Boise State for 10 seasons, the last five as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Richard Bisaccia is an American football coach who is the assistant head coach and special teams coordinator for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as an assistant coach for the Dallas Cowboys, San Diego Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and was an interim head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021, leading the Raiders to the playoffs in his lone season.
