Zee Smile was a general entertainment channel based in India. It was launched on 11 September 2004. [1] The channel was launched by Zee Network as Smile TV, but on 28 March 2005 as part of Zee Network's revamp, the channel was renamed as Zee Smile. [2] [3]

In March 2015, Zee Smile announced a revamp with Shailja Kejriwal in charge of the project. [4] The channel was shut down on 15 January 2016. It continues to telecast in USA through Sling TV only and airs different programming until removed from 2021.

History

The channel was established by Zee Entertainment Enterprises by Ashish Kaul, VP of Corporate Brand Development [5] and Nitin Vaidya, business head of Smile TV. [6] Along with sitcoms, the channel also broadcast game shows, comedy chat shows, and comedy movies. The channel also acquired various comic formats from other countries as well as Indian formats in a plan to generate more revenue. [7]

Zindagi was an Indian general entertainment channel, owned by the Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEEL). It also promoted itself as a television channel broadcasting short-run programming and as India's new Hindi entertainment channel, rather than on-going, indefinite serials. Screenwriters Association Labor union

The Screenwriters Association is a labour union based in Mumbai, India. Members are authors, novelists, playwrights, and journalists who work in films, TV, and digital media. Members of SWA can register their scripts, screenplays and lyrics with the organisation, and seek recourse in case of a dispute. SWA has a legal officer on board and the dispute settlement committee handles cases pertaining to writers' rights regarding credit and payments.
