This is a complete filmography of Chinese actress, director and producer Zhao Wei. In an acting career that spanned more than twenty years, Zhao performed on screen, television and stage. She is regarded by many as Mainland China's first "national idol" since the economic reform began in 1978. [1] Zhao appeared in a range of genres, including comedies, period dramas, modern dramas, actions. Zhao was awarded the Hong Kong Film Award, Hong Kong Film Critics Society Award, Golden Rooster Award, Hundred Flowers Award, Shanghai Film Critics Award, Huabiao Award, Golden Eagle TV Award, and as well as the Shanghai Film Festival Golden Globet. As one of the most successful Chinese actresses in terms of box office receipts, her films have grossed a total of more than over ¥5 billion yuan in China. Hong Kong Trade Development Council selected her as one of "top box office star" during 2008-2009. [3] [4] Zhao's directorial debut So Young (2013) has grossed over US$118 million with a US$5 million budget. [5] According to New Classic Media's IPO application, Zhao Wei's salary of Tiger Mom (2015) was 42.7925 million yuan, equally 1 million yuan per episode. And the ROI of the show was 300%. [6]

Not only appointed as judges China Film Directors Guild Award, Golden Phoenix Award, Zhao also was named as jury member by several international film festivals main competition, such as Venice, Shanghai and Tokyo.

Xu Jinglei is a Chinese actress and film director. She was hailed as one of the Four Dan Actresses in China. In 2002, Xu won the Huabiao Award for Outstanding New Actress for her performance in I Love You and the Hundred Flowers Award for Best Actress for Spring Subway. The same year, she won the Golden Rooster Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Far From Home. In 2003, she won the directing debut award of the 23rd Golden Rooster Award for the first film she directed, My Father and I. So Young is a 2013 Chinese drama film directed by Zhao Wei. It is based on the best-selling novel of the same name To Our Youth that is Fading Away by Xin Yiwu. The film is Zhao's directorial debut.

The Four Dan actresses were regarded as the four most bankable young actresses from Mainland China. Guangzhou Daily editorial first used the term to reference modern Chinese actresses Zhang Ziyi, Zhao Wei, Zhou Xun, and Xu Jinglei in July 2000, when they were all in their 20s. It gained widespread use in China thereafter following a series of interviews on Southern Metropolis Daily from December 2001 to January 2002. As expected, the four actresses dominated Chinese cinema in the following decade with varying degrees of success.

<i>Tiger Mom</i> (TV series) Chinese TV series or program

Tiger Mom is a 2015 Chinese television series starring Zhao Wei and Tong Dawei. It aired on Dragon TV and Tianjin TV from 3 May to 25 May 2015. The series revolves around a strong-willed disciplinarian tiger mother who faces mounting pressure raising her daughter, while her husband has an opposite view of how to raise their daughter. It marks Zhao Wei's return to television after a 5-year absence.
