Jin Zheng is a visually impaired Chinese Paralympic athlete. [1] She represented China at the 2016 Summer Paralympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and she won the gold medal in the women's 1500 metres T11 event. [1]

The delegation was the largest in Chinese history and at the 2008 Games. China topped the medal count at the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens. China dominated the medal count winning the most gold, silver, bronze, and total medals by a wide margin in Beijing.

This was an improvement from its previous best performance, where they had ranked sixth on the medal tally at the 2000 Summer Paralympics. China also broke the record for the most gold medals, the most silvers medals, the most bronze medals and the most medal overall won by Asian countries at a single Summer Paralympics, which was previously set by South Korea in 1988 with 40 gold, 35 silver and 19 bronze.
The torch relay for the 2008 Summer Paralympic Games was held between August 28 and September 6 in eleven cities, and also included the tomb of Yellow Emperor.
Marie-Amélie Le Fur is a French Paralympic athlete from Vendôme, Centre Region, competing in T44 sprint and F44 long jump events. Her left leg was amputated below the knee following a motor scooter accident in 2004. Before she lost her leg, she was a French junior running champion. As of 2023, Le Fur is the President of the French Paralympic and Sports Committee.
