Zionville is a ghost town in Washington County, Texas, United States. [1]
Zionville is situated south of the intersection of Farm to Market Roads 390 and 2679. The town was named after the Zion Lutheran Church in the town, which was established in 1870 by William Pfennig. A post office operated from 1872 to 1880, with Adolph Streckert serving as postmaster. The town received many Prussian immigrants in the 1870s. From the 1930s, the town declined. In 1970, a new church, the new Zion Lutheran Church, was constructed. [2] [3] [4]

The Meneely Bell Foundry was a bell foundry established in 1826 in West Troy, New York, by Andrew Meneely. Two of Andrew's sons continued to operate the foundry after his death, while a third son, Clinton H. Meneely, opened a second foundry across the river with George H. Kimberly in Troy, New York in 1870. Initially named the Meneely Bell Company of Troy, this second foundry was reorganized in 1880 as the Clinton H. Meneely Company, then again as the Meneely Bell Company. Together, the two foundries produced about 65,000 bells before they closed in 1952.
Daniel Alexander Payne was an American bishop, educator, college administrator and author. A major shaper of the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME), Payne stressed education and preparation of ministers and introduced more order in the church, becoming its sixth bishop and serving for more than four decades (1852–1893) as well as becoming one of the founders of Wilberforce University in Ohio in 1856. In 1863, the AME Church bought the college and chose Payne to lead it; he became the first African-American president of a college in the United States and served in that position until 1877.
Prairie Hill is an unincorporated community in Washington County, Texas, United States. Founded in 1870, the community flourished from the 1880s through to the 1960s and is still in existence today.

Cherry Spring is an unincorporated farming and ranching community established in 1852 in Gillespie County, in the U.S. state of Texas. It is located on Cherry Spring Creek, which runs from north of Fredericksburg to Llano. The creek was also sometimes known as Cherry Springs Creek by residents. The community is located on the old Pinta Trail. The Cherry Spring School was added to the National Register of Historic Places Listings in Gillespie County, Texas on May 6, 2005. The school was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1985.

Aside from the names of two local roads, the name Phillipsburg is no longer marked on modern maps. Spanish Camp is an unincorporated community in north central Wharton County, in the U.S. state of Texas. The community is located between Egypt and Hungerford along Farm to Market Road 1161, (FM 1161) near its intersection with Farm to Market Road 640 (FM 640). After the Mexican army of Antonio López de Santa Anna camped at the site in 1836, the community took the name Spanish Camp. In 1870, a church in the community was founded by former slaves and the congregation still existed as of 2013.
