Zombie Zombie are a French electropop trio consisting of Etienne Jaumet, Cosmic Neman and Dr Schonberg. They have released five studio albums. Their work includes re-interpretations of the music of John Carpenter and Sun Ra. Their performances include classic electronic instruments such as the Theremin.
Zombie Zombie was formed by jazz musician Etienne Jaumet on keyboards and drummer Cosmic Neman on percussion (then also of Herman Dune). In 2008 the duo released their first album, A Land for Renegades. [2] [3]
In 2010 they released a mini-album that re-imagined John Carpenter score compositions titled Zombie Zombie Plays John Carpenter. [4]
They performed a live soundtrack to Battleship Potemkin open air on the back of a tug boat in the Jersey Harbour as part of the Branchage Film Festival in September 2010. [5]
In 2012 they released a second album, Rituels d'un Nouveau Monde. [6] [7]
Their version of the Sun Ra song "Rocket Number 9" was sampled in the Lady Gaga song "Venus" in 2013. [8]
They released third album Livity in 2017, now a trio with the addition of Dr Schonberg. [9]
In 2022 they released the album Vae Vobis. [10]
Their fifth album, Funk Kraut, was released in 2025. [11]
Zombie Zombie have recorded several film soundtracks, including Narimane Mari's 2013 film Loubia Hamra . [4]
