Through the first decade of the 21st century, the economy of Zambia was one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa, and its capital, Lusaka, the fastest-growing city in the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Zambia's economic performance has stalled in recent years due to declining copper prices, significant fiscal deficits, and energy shortages. The economy has been reliant on mineral extraction since the 1920s, in particular copper.
Lozi, also known as Silozi and Rozi, is a Bantu language of the Niger–Congo language family within the Sotho–Tswana branch of Zone S (S.30), that is spoken by the Lozi people, primarily in southwestern Zambia and in surrounding countries. The language is most closely related to Northern Sotho, Tswana (Setswana), Kgalagari (SheKgalagari) and Sotho. Lozi, sometimes written as Rotse, and its dialects are spoken and understood by approximately six per cent of the population of Zambia. Silozi is the endonym as defined by the United Nations. Judith Wambura Mbibo, known by her stage name Lady Jaydee also referred to as "Lady JayDee in town" or "Lady Jay Dee", is a Tanzanian singer. She specializes in the R&B, Zouk and Afro Pop genres. Lady Jaydee was voted as the Best Tanzanian Female R&B Artist in 2002, performed at the Kora All Africa Designers Competition, and was awarded for the "Best R&B Album" at the Tanzania Music Awards on 6 August 2004. In July 2005, she won an award for "best female video for South Africa". She was among the first females to sing R&B in Swahili. Lady Jaydee is signed to one of Africa's most successful music label, Taurus Musik. She is also known as the Queen of Bongo Flava.

Chibesakunda is the first woman president of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Court of Justice in Khartoum, Sudan.
Timbwama Chisenga better known as Tim Thugga or now just Tim is a Zambian gospel rapper and songwriter. He rose to prominence as a member of the boy group Zone Fam formed in 2009 after they were all signed to Slam Dunk Records. While in Zone Fam, Tim began to establish himself as a solo artist until April 1, 2015, when he officially announced his plans to be a gospel artist on his social media. His first single as a solo Christian hip hop artist, "Heartbeat", was released in 2017 off his debut album TIM, set to be released in 2021.

Wezi released a song called "Isa Bantu Tyala" featuring Pilato and "Take My Heart", song cover, which was produced by Chali Bravo, released on 8 April 2020.
Bwalya Sophie Chibesakunda, better known by her stage name Bombshell Grenade which is written as Bomb$hell Grenade or simply Bombshell, is a Zambian rapper, singer, actress and the 2021 AFRIMMA Best Female Rapper in Africa. She first gained public recognition after the release of her single "The Berg" featuring Jay Rox. Grenade subsequently provided guest vocals for the Kaladoshas song "They Don't Know".
