Zorro and Son is an American television Western based on the character Zorro that aired on CBS. Created by Walt Disney Television, the series stars Henry Darrow as Zorro (Don Diego) and Paul Regina as his son Zorro Jr. (Don Carlos). The limited series aired for five episodes from April 6 to May 4, 1983. [1]

Contents

It featured the same theme song by Norman Foster and George Bruns that was used on Disney's 1957 Zorro television series.

Synopsis

Set approximately twenty years after the first series, Zorro and Son is an updated, comical version of the original series. [2]

Don Carlos falls in love with Angelica after he saves her. He uses his father's costume to do so, in which he vows to follow the Zorro promise. His father is informed by his son that he loves her, and that he wants her to know this. Meanwhile, Pico is up to no good trying to catch Zorro and put a stop to his good deeds.

While Bernardo is washing clothes, Zorro's outfit blows away into the reach of Paco Pico. Pico takes Bernardo into jail to get him to admit that Don Diego is Zorro, but Bernardo declares that he himself is Zorro. Don Carlos & Diego must save Bernardo before he is hurt, but their outfits have shrunk. Sergeant Sepulveda helps them out, so they can help Bernardo.

When Paco Pico is confronted by Captain Jorge Mendez and El Excellente, he becomes afraid that he might lose his spot in the office. He turns to Don Diego for support to help him keep his position. In the end, Diego tells Pico that he didn't want Captain Mendez in charge because he would be a greater ruler than Pico. Also, according to Mendez, he almost caught Diego.

Darrow replaced Efrem Zimbalist Jr. as Zorro's father Don Alejandro de la Vega in the 1990s television series Zorro.

The Mark of Zorro is a 1940 American black-and-white swashbuckling film released by 20th Century-Fox, directed by Rouben Mamoulian, produced by Darryl F. Zanuck, and starring Tyrone Power, Linda Darnell, and Basil Rathbone. The supporting cast features Eugene Pallette, Gale Sondergaard, and Robert Lowery. The film is based on the novel The Curse of Capistrano by Johnston McCulley, originally published in 1919 in five serialized installments in All-Story Weekly, which introduced the masked hero Zorro; the story is set in Southern California during the early 19th century. After the enormous success of the silent 1920 film adaptation, the novel was republished under that name by Grosset & Dunlap. The film was named to the National Film Registry in 2009 by the Library of Congress for being "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant", and to be preserved for all time.

Zorro: Generation Z is a British-German animated series that began in 2006. Former Marvel Studios development executive Rick Ungar developed the original series in association with BKN International, BKN New Media, G7 Animation, and Pangea Corporation. The programming deal and concept for the new series was developed by Ungar, G7, and Pangea and underwritten partially by a master toy license with Brazilian toy company, Gulliver Toys. What made the show unique were the plethora of Pangea-designed high tech gadgets and the conceit of having the young Zorro ride his motorcycle named after his horse, Tornado.

Reyes and Dominic Zapata, it stars Richard Gutierrez in the title role. It premiered on March 23, 2009, on the network's Telebabad line up. The series concluded on August 7, 2009, with a total of 98 episodes. It was replaced by Darna in its timeslot.

The Great Adventure of Zorro is a 1976 film starring Rodolfo de Anda in a Mexican version of Zorro, directed by Raúl de Anda and featuring such actors as Helena Rojo and Pedro Armendáriz, Jr.
