Zulu Winter were a five piece indie rock band formed in London in 2011. The band consisted of Will Daunt (vocals & guitar), Iain Lock (backing vocals and bass), Dom Millard (keyboards), Henry Walton (guitar) and Guy Henderson (drums).

They released their first single, "Never Leave", on Double Denim Records on 7 November 2011, Later the same week the band played a BBC Radio 6 introducing session at Maida Vale for Steve Lamacq, playing their first single "Never Leave", B-side "Let's Move Back To Front" and other tracks from their forthcoming album. [1] The band subsequently signed to Play It Again Sam, a part of PIAS Entertainment Group.

Their second single "We Should Be Swimming" was released in February 2012 and was Zane Lowe's Hottest Record In The World on his BBC Radio 1 show, on 11 January 2012. [2] The band received various features in the UK press, including a two-page spread in Q (magazine), [3] "New Band Of The Day" on The Guardian website [4] and a mention in the Independent's "Music One's To Watch Lists: This millennium’s school yard brawl". [5] The band were also chosen by Mumford & Sons as an act for the Galway leg of the Gentleman of the Road festival in June 2012.

In March 2012, the UK Band, Keane, announced Zulu Winter as the support act on their 2012 UK Strangeland Tour. [6] The band released their third single "Silver Tongue" in April 2012 which was once again made Zane Lowe's Hottest Record In The World on his BBC Radio 1 show. [7]

The band released their debut album Language on 14 May 2012 on Play It Again Sam, which was received very well in both the UK and the US. The band also won Steve Lamacq's Rebel Playlist competition on his BBC 6 Music radio show, where the band's latest single, "Key To My Heart" was voted to get played on each daytime programme the following week.

Zulu Winter played a number of festivals across Europe and the UK in 2012, including Reading and Leeds, T in the Park, Secret Garden, Pukkelpop, Lowlands, the Isle of Wight and Bestival. The band also toured extensively throughout 2012/13, supporting The Vaccines on a European tour in the spring of 2012, and playing SXSW in Austin and NXNE in Toronto.

On 5 June 2014, the band announced they had split after playing together for nearly 15 years, via their Facebook page. A mini-album of studio and home recordings which the band "didn't want to fester on a hard drive somewhere", was released on 21 July 2014 under the title Stutter on Fierce Panda Records. [8] Half the tracks were studio produced while the other were self-produced. NME's Jeremy Allen reviewed the album; "To be fair, it’s glossy and cohesive for an outtakes record, but aside from the subtle, groove-laden title track, nothing here really competes for your attention. Now is the winter of their discontent.", with a score of 5/10. [9]

Jamie T English singer

Jamie Alexander Treays, better known by his stage name Jamie T, is an English singer, songwriter, rapper and record producer from Wimbledon, South London. Klaxons

Klaxons were an English band, based in London. Following the release of several 7-inch singles on different independent record labels, as well as the success of previous singles "Magick" and "Golden Skans", the band released their debut album, Myths of the Near Future on 29 January 2007. The album won the 2007 Nationwide Mercury Prize. After playing festivals and headlining tours worldwide during late 2006–07, the band started working on their follow-up album in July 2007. Klaxons' second album, Surfing the Void, was released on 23 August 2010. Their third album, Love Frequency, was released on 16 June 2014.

The Maccabees (band)

They released four albums: Colour It In in 2007, followed by Wall of Arms in 2009, Given to the Wild which was released on 9 January 2012 and their last album Marks to Prove It released on 31 July 2015. The band announced that they decided to disband in August 2016, with farewell gigs in 2017.

Hadouken! (band)

Hadouken! is a British band formed in London in 2006 by singer, writer and producer James Smith and synth player Alice Spooner along with guitarist Daniel "Pilau" Rice, bassist Christopher Purcell and drummer Nick Rice. The band name is taken from the special attack of the same name from the Street Fighter video game series. It was in Leeds that Hadouken! began their own record label, Surface Noise Records.

The Courteeners

They were formed in Sacramento, California in December 2006. After several EP's, in 2010 they released their first full-length LP, No Name No Color. Their second album Pick Up Your Head was released June 25, 2013. After a brief hiatus, the band returned in 2018 with their third album Gutters.

Its Not the End of the World, But I Can See It from Here

"It's Not the End of the World, But I Can See It from Here" is the twelfth single by Welsh rock band Lostprophets, and the first from their fourth studio album The Betrayed. It was released on 11 October 2009 in the UK, the first time they had released anything since April 2007. The release also features the song "AC Ricochet". Former drummer Ilan Rubin confirmed in an interview earlier this year that he wrote the song when he was 16.

Sound of Guns

Sound of Guns were an English alternative rock band from Liverpool, England, who were formed in 2008. Discovered by BBC Introducing the band went on to sign with independent record label Distiller Records through which they released their debut album What Came From Fire on 28 June 2010 and second album Angels and Enemies on 5 March 2012.

The Vaccines are an English indie rock band, formed in West London in 2010 by Justin Hayward-Young, Freddie Cowan, Árni Árnason and Pete Robertson.

Weapons is the fifth and final studio album by the Welsh alternative rock band Lostprophets. It was released through Epic Records on 2 April 2012. This was the last album to be released by the band before lead vocalist Ian Watkins was convicted of numerous sex offences, which led to their disbandment.

Coasts (band)

Coasts was an English rock band formed in Bristol in 2011. The group consists of Chris Caines (Vocals), Liam Willford (Guitar), James Gamage (Bass), David Goulbourn (Keyboards) and Ben Street (Drums). They are most notable for achieving two UK Top 40 albums, the second of which reached the Top 20. They are also known for their singles "A Rush of Blood" and "Oceans". "A Rush of Blood" was named Zane Lowe's 'Hottest Record' in October 2014. The single has also featured on Made in Chelsea. "Oceans" has received international media attention and has achieved over four million plays on SoundCloud.
