Local elections were held in Sweden on Sunday 15 September 2002 to elect county councils and municipal councils. The elections were held alongside general elections.

The Socialist Justice Party is a Trotskyist political party in Sweden. RS is the Swedish section of International Socialist Alternative (ISA). The forerunner organization of RS was called Arbetarförbundet Offensiv. The group developed out of the Offensiv group that had practiced entryism in the Swedish Social Democratic Party during the 1970s and 1980s.

The Workers' Party is a democratic socialist political party in Sweden. It was founded in 2010, when almost the entire Västerbotten County section of the Socialist Justice Party (RS) broke off ahead of the 2010 general election. It adopted the name Rättvisepartiet Socialisterna, enhetslista för jobb - mot nedskärningar for its party list. In early 2011, it was renamed the more Workers' Party. It currently holds two seats in the municipal assembly of Umeå. The Workers' Party publishes the New Workers' Journal.

The 2003 by-election in the Province of Siirt was held on 9 March 2003 in order to elect three Members of Parliament from the eastern Turkish province of Siirt to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. The by-election was held four months after the 2002 general election in November, which the Supreme Electoral Council of Turkey declared null and void in Siirt due to voting irregularities in the district of Pervari. The council decided on 2 December 2002 that the complaints by the local electoral authorities had influenced on the election result, thus calling a by-election.

The 2015 Blackpool Borough Council election took place on 7 May 2015 to elect members of Blackpool Borough Council in England. All 21 wards of 2 seats each on the council were contested with newly elected members next due to serve a four-year term and next contest their seats in 2019. This election took place on the same day as other local elections as well as the 2015 UK General Election.

The 2016 Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council election was held on 5 May 2016 as part of the 2016 United Kingdom local elections and alongside the 2016 Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner election. As part of the staggered four-year election cycle, half of the borough council was up for re-election in addition to a vacant seat in the Exhall ward. Overall this meant that eighteen council seats were contested.

The first election to Mid Bedfordshire District Council was held on 7 June 1973, with the 49 councillors elected forming a shadow authority until 1 April 1974. Mid Bedfordshire District was formed on 1 April 1974 as part of a general reorganisation of local authorities in England and Wales carried out under the Local Government Act 1972. Boston City Council elections were held on November 5, 2019. Nomination forms could be submitted starting April 17, and candidates had a filing deadline of May 21. A preliminary election was held on September 24. By law, Boston municipal elections are nonpartisan—candidates do not represent a specific political party.

The 2021 Plano municipal elections took place on May 1, 2021. In addition to the mayoral election, seats were contested for Places 2, 4, and 8, as well as a special election for Place 7. No candidate received a majority of the total vote in Places 2 and 7, so the two top vote-earners advanced to a runoff election. This election took place on June 5, 2021. Due to term limits, incumbent mayor Harry LaRosiliere was ineligible to run for a third term.

The 2021 Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council election was held on 6 May 2021 as part of the 2021 United Kingdom local elections and alongside elections for Warwickshire County Council and Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner. Half of the borough council seats were up for election and the results provided the Conservative Party with a majority on the council, with the party winning all but two seats up for election.
