The 2022 Sakhir FIA Formula 2 round was a motor racing event held between 18 and 20 March 2022 at the Bahrain International Circuit, Sakhir, Bahrain. It was the opening race of the 2022 FIA Formula 2 Championship and was held in support of the 2022 Bahrain Grand Prix.
Qualifying took place on 18 March 2022, where Jack Doohan scored his first pole position in the series. [1]

Richard Bastiaan Verschoor is a Dutch racing driver currently competing for Van Amersfoort Racing in the Formula 2 Championship. Verschoor graduated to Formula 2 in 2021 with MP Motorsport before switching to Charouz Racing System, and moved to Trident for 2022 after two years in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with MP Motorsport.
Marcus John Armstrong is a New Zealand motor racing driver. He is competing in the NTT IndyCar Series full-time with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2024. He previously he competed in the FIA Formula 2 Championship between 2020 and 2022, and was the 2019 Formula 3 runner-up. He was a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy between 2017 and 2021.
Victor Martins is a French-Portuguese racing driver and member of the Alpine Academy, currently competing in the 2023 FIA Formula 2 Championship with ART Grand Prix. He won the 2020 Formula Renault Eurocup and the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship.
Enzo Fittipaldi da Cruz is a Brazilian-American racing driver, who is currently competing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Carlin. After signing with Carlin, he became a member of the Red Bull Junior Team in November 2022, and was a previous member of the Ferrari Driver Academy. Fittipaldi was the 2018 Italian F4 champion and 2019 Formula Regional European runner-up. He then spent nearly two seasons in Formula 3 before being promoted to Formula 2 with Charouz Racing System.
Felipe Drugovich Roncato is a Brazilian-Italian racing driver who is current test and reserve driver for Aston Martin and McLaren in Formula 1. He is the 2018 Euroformula Open champion and the 2022 Formula 2 champion.
Liam Lawson is a New Zealander motor racing driver currently competing in Formula One for Scuderia AlphaTauri and Red Bull Racing as a reserve driver and Super Formula Championship with Team Mugen. Lawson, who is mentored by three-time New Zealand Grand Prix winner Ken Smith, previously competed for the Carlin team in the FIA Formula 2 Championship, where he finished third in 2022. He is a previous Toyota Racing Series champion and member of the Red Bull Junior Team, In 2021, he also raced for the Red Bull AF Corse team in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, partnering Alex Albon, narrowly missing out on the championship in the last round. He is also the runner-up during the 2023 Super Formula Championship.
Théo Jérôme Julien Pourchaire is a French racing driver currently competing in the 2023 FIA Formula 2 Championship for the ART Grand Prix team. He is currently a member of the Sauber Academy and serves as a test and reserve driver for Alfa Romeo Racing.
Frederik Vesti Stamm is a Danish racing driver who is currently competing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Prema Racing. He is a member of the Mercedes Junior Team and is the inaugural champion of the Formula Regional European Championship.
Jack Doohan is an Australian race car driver serving as reserve driver for Alpine F1 Team and currently competing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Invicta Virtuosi Racing. He is the 2021 FIA Formula 3 vice-champion and a former member of the Red Bull Junior Team. He is the son of motorcycle rider Mick Doohan, who is a five-time 500cc world champion.
