Adisumarmo Airport Rail Link (Indonesian : Kereta api Bandara Internasional Adisumarmo) is an airport rail link service in Central Java, Indonesia. The service was built to cut travel time from Surakarta city center to Adisumarmo International Airport. It is operated by Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) because its subsidiary KAI Bandara doesn't have stakes owned by Angkasa Pura I.
The Adisumarmo ARS is the fourth airport rail link in Indonesia connecting passengers between the city centre and airport after Kualanamu ARS, Soekarno–Hatta ARS and Minangkabau ARS. [3] The train line between Adisoemarmo International Airport station and Solo Balapan opened on 29 December 2019. [4] The trains are manufactured by INKA. [5] [6]
A new railway is being constructed to the airport. The 13.5-kilometre (8.4 mi) airport rail will connect Solo Balapan Station to Adi Soemarmo Airport. Construction of the airport rail line consists of two segments: segment 1, from Solo Balapan Station to Solo Baru Station along 3.5 kilometres (2.2 mi) which is the existing railway track. Meanwhile, segment 2, starting from Solo Baru Station to Adi Sumarmo Airport along the 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) to be built new railway line. By using this airport train, the distance from Solo to Adi Sumarmo Airport will only take about 15 minutes. [7] The airport railway opened on 29 December 2019. [4]

Adisumarmo International Airport is an airport in Boyolali Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. It is located 14 km north of Downtown Surakarta. It is the main airport of Boyolali and Surakarta and the surrounding area, also known as Greater Solo. The airport also serves as an alternative airport to Adisutjipto International Airport in Yogyakarta during a disaster, such as during the 2006 Yogyakarta earthquake and the 2010 Mount Merapi eruption.
Kualanamu International Airport, often spelled as Kuala Namu and informally abbreviated KNIA, is an international airport serving Medan, Indonesia, and other parts of North Sumatra. It is located in the Deli Serdang Regency, 23 kilometres (14 mi) east of downtown Medan. Kualanamu is the third-largest airport in Indonesia after Jakarta Soekarno–Hatta and Bandung Kertajati, and the fifth busiest airport in Indonesia as of 2018, as well as the first Indonesian airport to receive a four stars rating from Skytrax. The airport was opened to the public on 25 July 2013, handling all flights and services from Polonia International Airport, an airport located at the heart of Medan which was deemed dangerous. The airport was built on the former site of an oil palm plantation of company Perkebunan Nusantara II Tanjung Morawa. The airport is expected to become the new international transit center in Sumatra and the western part of Indonesia. It is part of the Indonesian central government's "Masterplan to Accelerate and Expand Economic Development in Indonesia" (MP3EI) program. The airport was also considered as a candidate for ASEAN Single Aviation Market (ASEAN-SAM), an open skies policy among member-countries in the Southeast Asia region starting 2015.
Xpress Air was an Indonesian domestic regular airline that offered direct flights to the eastern parts of Indonesia, with its first flight in 2005, and from 2014 international routes to Malaysia. Beginning with two Boeing 737s, Xpress Air was the first privately owned, scheduled airline to connect Jakarta to 24 domestic destinations like Makassar, Ternate, Sorong, Manokwari and Jayapura. Makassar was a main hub for all flights coming from Java to the eastern cities of Indonesia, while Sorong was a second hub in Papua, connecting remote places surrounding the West Papua area. The airline ceased all operations in 2021.

KAI Commuter Yogyakarta Line, officially the Yogyakarta Commuter Line, is a commuter rail system in Indonesia serving Greater Yogyakarta in Special Region of Yogyakarta and Greater Surakarta (Solo) in Central Java.
