African Handball Champions League is an annual international club handball competition run by the African Handball Confederation. The top club sides from Africa's handball leagues are invited to participate in the tournament, which serves as a qualifying tournament for the IHF Super Globe.

Contents

Since 2013, Algeria has decided not to participate in any continental competition due to the participation of clubs from Western Sahara under the flag of Morocco as Algeria recognizes Western Sahara as a state.

The African Handball Nations Championship is the official competition for senior national handball teams of Africa, and takes place every two years. Al Ahly Handball Club is one of Al Ahly Sporting Club's sections that represent the club in Egypt as well as in international handball competitions. Al Ahly's Handball team was founded in 1959. The Al Ahly handball team has participated in the Egyptian Handball League since the beginning in 1960s until the present. The Championship was played under the name of the Republic League. The first championship win for the Al Ahly team in the Egyptian Handball League was in 1968 and 1969. The Al Ahly Handball Club has won the most titles in the league, 24 of which were gold medals. USM Alger, an Algerian professional association football club, has gained entry to Confederation of African Football (CAF) competitions on several occasions. They have represented Algeria in the Champions League on seven occasions, the Confederation Cup on Three separate occasions, the now-defunct Cup Winners' Cup five separate occasions, and the now-defunct CAF Cup one occasions. At the Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA), they participated several times, They have represented Algeria in the Arab Champions League on five occasions, and the now-defunct Maghreb Cup Winners Cup two occasions.

The 2024 African Handball Super Cup, oficially 31st Men's and Women's Super Cup Final Four is the 31st edition of the African Handball Super Cup, it is a handball competition organized by the African Handball Confederation, under the auspices of the International Handball Federation, the handball sport governing body. The matches, held from 15 to 16 April 2024 at the Miloud Hadefi Complex Omnisport Arena, in Oran, Algeria, and is contested by the finalists of the 2023 African Handball Champions League and of the 2023 African Handball Cup Winners' Cup for the man and also the finalists of the 2023 African Women's Handball Champions League and of the 2023 African Women's Handball Cup Winners' Cup for the women. For the first time, four teams for men and also for women participated to the tournament. The winners of the men's tournament will participate to the 2024 IHF Men's Super Globe.
