Big Bang Made is a 2016 South Korean documentary film featuring popular boy band Big Bang on their tour, the Made World Tour in 2015, which became the most attended tour headlined by a Korean act in history. It was released in South Korea and Japan on June 30, 2016. [5] It is the band's first film, released to celebrate the tenth anniversary of their debut.

Synopsis

In April 2015, BigBang made a comeback after a three-year hiatus as a group, and their Made World Tour ended with a great success drawing 1.5 million people worldwide. The movie follows BigBang from the beginning till the end of their world tour in a documentary format to give up close and personal view of their 340 day long journey on tour as they perform in 32 cities across 13 countries. [6] The movie shows the five singers off guard in their natural state, having fun on-stage during the concerts, as well as behind-the-scenes footage of the tour. The film also included interviews with each member. [7]

Release and reception

"Big Bang shines the most when they are just being themselves. The movie is a collection of such moments. Without any artificial setting, the camera follows Big Bang members and records them in their most natural state. As a result, viewers can see Big Bang members not only as artist but also just as guys next door."

YG Entertainment released a series of teasers in anticipation of the movie release. On June 20, the first teaser was released with preview of G-Dragon interview, followed by Taeyang, T.O.P, Daesung, and Seungri each day after till June 24. [9] [10] Big Bang Made premiered at the CGV Yeongdeungpo in Seoul on June 28, 2016.

The film was released in 2D and also in a Screen X version at CGV theaters. [7] In addition to South Korea and Japan, the movie will receive a limited release in ten other countries including Singapore, Thailand, and United States. [11]

In South Korea, the movie drew 15,000 viewers across Korea in the first four days. [12] In the six days, the film earned $229,491 from 31,384 viewers from 53 theatres. [13] On July 14, the movie surpassed 50,000 viewers, making it the most viewed music documentary in Korea. [14] In Japan, the movie was screened across 51 theatres, drawing 50,000 viewers in the first four days. [15] [16] The movie drew 120,000 viewers in Japan in total. [11]

The film was released online in China through Tencent QQ on July 25, and within 24 hours it was watched by over 10 million people. [17]

Choi Seung-hyun, better known by his stage name T.O.P, is a South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor. He performed as an underground rapper before joining the record label YG Entertainment and debuted as the lead rapper for the boy band BigBang in 2006. The group became one of the best-selling groups of all-time in Asia and one of the best-selling boy bands in the world. In 2010, while the group was on hiatus, T.O.P and G-Dragon collaborated to release the album, GD & TOP. As a solo rapper, he has released two digital singles, "Turn It Up" (2010) and "Doom Dada" (2013), that have peaked at number two and four, respectively, on the Gaon Digital Chart.

Tonight is the fourth extended play of South Korean boy band Big Bang. It was their first new material released in South Korea after two-year hiatus as a group. It was released on February 24, 2011, under YG Entertainment. A repackaged edition titled Big Bang Special Edition was released on April 8, 2011, and featured a new track "Love Song" as the lead single.

"Loser" is a song by South Korean boy band Big Bang. It was released on May 1, 2015, alongside "Bae Bae" as the group's fifth single album M, and as the first single of their third Korean-language studio album Made (2016). The single marked BigBang's first release since Still Alive (2012). Written by G-Dragon, T.O.P, Teddy and produced by Teddy alongside Taeyang, "Loser" has been described as a hip hop and R&B song.

The Made V.I.P Tour is the first Chinese fan meeting tour by South Korean boy band Big Bang, in support of their albums, M, A, D and E released in 2015. The tour attracted over 500,000 people in Mainland China alone, breaking BigBang's own record for the most attended tour by a foreign language act of all time in China. Their event in Luoyang, China attracted over 45,000 people broke their previous record for the largest audience drawn by a foreign language act of all time in China. 0.TO.10 was the tenth concert tour by South Korean boy band Big Bang that was held to celebrate the group's tenth anniversary. The tour visited Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong from July 2016 to January 2017. The shows were live-streamed through theatres in Japan, Tencent QQ in China and Naver's V app. BigBang held 24 concerts in six cities, which attracted more than 1.1 million fans.

The Last Dance Tour is the sixth concert tour in Japan and eleventh overall by South Korean boy band Big Bang. The tour began on November 18, 2017 in Fukuoka, Japan and concluded on December 31, 2017 in Seoul, South Korea. BigBang broke their own record by being the only foreign act to hold a dome-sized arena tour in Japan for the fifth consecutive year. The oldest member T.O.P did not perform on this tour due to his mandatory military service in South Korea which began in February 2017.
