After experiencing breakthrough success in their home country with the song "Lies" [3] and "Last Farewell", [4] BigBang expanded their endeavors to Japan, hoping to produce similar results. In 2009, American music publishing company Sony/ATV Music Publishing accused YG Entertainment of plagiarism, and listed four songs recorded by several of YG's artists as having been plagiarized. [5] BigBang's single "With U" was included as part of the accusation and deemed to have copied from R&B singer Joe's 2004 single "Ride wit U", [6] with Sony stating they would take legal action. [5] YG Entertainment denied all accusations. [7] [8]

BigBang is a South Korean boy band formed by YG Entertainment. The group consists of three members: G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung. Originally a five-piece band, Seungri retired from the entertainment industry in March 2019 and T.O.P left in May 2023. Dubbed the "Kings of K-pop", they helped spread the Korean Wave internationally and are considered one of the most influential acts in K-pop. They are known for their trendsetting musical experimentation, self-production, and stage presence.
Choi Seung-hyun, better known by his stage name T.O.P, is a South Korean rapper, songwriter and actor. He performed as an underground rapper before joining the record label YG Entertainment and debuted as the lead rapper for the boy band BigBang in 2006. The group became one of the best-selling groups of all-time in Asia and one of the best-selling boy bands in the world. In 2010, while the group was on hiatus, T.O.P and G-Dragon collaborated to release the album, GD & TOP. As a solo rapper, he has released two digital singles, "Turn It Up" (2010) and "Doom Dada" (2013), that have peaked at number two and four, respectively, on the Gaon Digital Chart.
Kwon Ji-yong, best known as G-Dragon (지드래곤), is a South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur, known as the "King of K-pop". Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, G-Dragon made his debut in 2006 and rose to prominence as the leader of the South Korean boy band BigBang, which went on to become one of the best-selling boy bands in the world.

Dong Young-bae, better known by his stage names Taeyang and SOL, is a South Korean singer. He made his debut in 2006 as a member of the South Korean boy band BigBang. Teddy Park is a Korean–American rapper, songwriter, and record producer. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Park moved to the United States with his family as a young child. When he was 17 years old, Park and his friend Danny flew to South Korea during summer vacation to audition for YG Entertainment. Both were signed immediately, and after finishing high school in the States, moved to Korea to pursue music.
Tonight is the fourth extended play of South Korean boy band Big Bang. It was their first new material released in South Korea after two-year hiatus as a group. Upon its release, the album and its lead single of the same name became a chart-topper in various South Korean and international music charts. It was released on February 24, 2011, under YG Entertainment.
