Canarias Regional Air was a Spanish charter airline based in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands. [1]
Canarias Regional Air was founded in 1998 in an effort to compete with Binter —a subsidiary of Iberia. It began operations from Tenerife North Airport. [2] Canarias Regional Air had an association with Air Europa Express —a now defunct subsidiary of Air Europa— for the operation of a number of British Aerospace ATP turboprop aircraft in short-haul flights between the islands. [3]
The company tried to operate as an independent airline after the agreement with Air Europa Express expired but the venture was not successful. Canarias Regional Air ceased operations in 2000, shortly after an attempt at operating charter flights with a newly acquired Boeing 737. [4]
Hapag-Lloyd Flug was a German leisure airline headquartered in Langenhagen, Lower Saxony that was originally founded by Hapag-Lloyd and later became a subsidiary of TUI Group. It operated scheduled and charter passenger flights mainly to holiday resorts in Europe. Its successor is today's TUI fly Deutschland.

Tenerife North–Ciudad de La Laguna Airport, formerly Los Rodeos Airport, is the smaller of the two international airports on the island of Tenerife, Spain. It is located in San Cristóbal de La Laguna, 11 km (7 mi) by road from Santa Cruz and at an elevation of 633 metres (2,077 ft). It handled 3,717,944 passengers in 2012.
