The Edmonton Elks are a professional Canadian football team based in Edmonton, Alberta. The club competes in the Canadian Football League (CFL) as a member of the league's West Division and plays their home games at Commonwealth Stadium. The Elks were founded in 1949 as the Edmonton Eskimos and have won the Grey Cup championship fourteen times, most recently in 2015 and the most of any CFL club based in Western Canada. The team has a rivalry with the Calgary Stampeders and is one of the three community-owned teams in the CFL. The team discontinued using the Eskimos name in 2020, with the new name Elks formally announced on June 1, 2021.

College of the Siskiyous (COS) is a public community college with campuses in Weed and Yreka in Siskiyou County in Northern California. Rod Connop is a former professional Canadian football player for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League. Connop spent his entire 16-year career with the Eskimos as an offensive lineman. Connop played CIS football at Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks. He was named CFL All-Star six times and won the CFL's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award in the 1989 CFL season. Connop played 210 consecutive games with the Eskimos from 1983 until his retirement following the 1997 season. As of 2011, he continued to be the all-time Eskimo leader in games played (274). He is a member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, where he was inducted in 2005. His son Rory Connop played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL as a defensive lineman.
Marco Cyncar is a former Canadian Football League receiver who played eleven seasons for the Edmonton Eskimos. He was a member of four Grey Cup Championship teams in Edmonton.
Leo Blanchard is a former professional Canadian football offensive lineman who played between 1979 and 1991 in the Canadian Football League, mainly for the Edmonton Eskimos, but also for the Calgary Stampeders. Blanchard grew up in Edmonton, and played football in high school at Queen Elizabeth Composite High School. Blanchard played Canadian university football for the Alberta Golden Bears between 1977-78. He played for the Eskimos from 1979-87. He was named CFL All-Star every year from 1982 to 1986 and was a part of five Grey Cup championship teams with the Eskimos. He later worked as offensive line coach for the junior Victoria Rebels.

Harry Corday Coleman is a former gridiron football linebacker, last with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at LSU as a safety and was switched to linebacker during his senior year. He signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent, but was subsequently released by the team on July 21, 2010. In high school, Coleman played football, basketball, and baseball. He was later re-signed by the Saints on August 14, 2010. Coleman would ultimately be released again before he ended up in the United Football League. He signed with the Edmonton Eskimos on May 9, 2012, but was released on June 23, 2012. In 2018, Coleman was a member of the amateur flag football team Fighting Cancer during the American Flag Football League's first US Open of Football. Fighting Cancer was crowned the America's Champions for winning the amateur branch of the tournament and faced the Professional Champion team, Godspeed, in the Ultimate Final, which they also won.
Jerome Messam is a former professional Canadian football running back. He most recently played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the BC Lions. After being traded to the Edmonton Eskimos, he became the seventh Canadian running back since 1955 and the first since 2000 to rush for over 1,000 yards while also winning the CFL's Most Outstanding Canadian Award. Messam played college football for Graceland University.
Nathan Joel Coehoorn is a former Canadian football wide receiver who played his entire professional career for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League. After the 2010 CIS season, he was ranked as the seventh best player in the Canadian Football League’s Amateur Scouting Bureau rankings for players eligible in the 2011 CFL Draft, and third by players in the CIS. Coming out of college his top assets were speed, aggression and good hands. He was drafted fifth overall in the draft by the Eskimos and signed with the team on May 31, 2011. He played CIS football with the Calgary Dinos. On August 20, 2013 his contract was extended through the 2015 CFL season.
Corbin Sharun is a professional Canadian football defensive back and special teams specialist who is currently a free agent. He was drafted by the Edmonton Eskimos in 2010, where he played for five seasons. He played college football for the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men and junior football for the Edmonton Wildcats.

Jordan Lynch is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football for the Northern Illinois Huskies, earning first-team All-American honors as an all-purpose player and finishing as a finalist for the Heisman Trophy in 2013. After going undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft, Lynch had a stint with the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL) before playing with Edmonton in the CFL.
