The Guelph Gryphons are the athletic teams that represent the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. The university's varsity teams compete in the Ontario University Athletics conference of the U Sports and, where applicable, in the west division. The university teams are often referred to as the Gryphs, which is short for the school's mascot, Gryph, the gryphon.

Gerry Organ is a former professional Canadian football placekicker and punter for the Ottawa Rough Riders of the Canadian Football League. Organ played in 176 games in the CFL and is Ottawa's all-time leader in points scored with 1,462. He is the only kicker to have won the CFL's Most Outstanding Canadian Award, which he won in 1973. He played college football with the Guelph Gryphons.
Thomas George Dimitroff Jr. is an American–Canadian football executive. He served as the general manager of the Atlanta Falcons from 2008 to 2020. Before joining the Falcons in 2008, Dimitroff was with the New England Patriots for six years. He joined the Patriots in 2002 as a national scout and then was named director of college scouting a year later.
The Guelph Gryphons represented the University of Guelph in the 2009-10 Canadian Interuniversity Sport women's hockey season. Alumni Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium at the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. It is home to the Guelph Gryphons varsity football team. It was built in 1970, and has a fixed seating capacity of approximately 8,500, including fixed seating and the grass hill on the east side of the stadium. On October 27, 2011, it was announced that the stadium would undergo an $18 million expansion and renovation that will bring fixed seating capacity up to 7,500. It was also announced that an eight-lane track would be installed as well as synthetic turf for the field. In addition to football the Gryphons soccer teams also play their home games at the stadium.
Rudy Florio is a former Canadian football running back who played six seasons in the Canadian Football League with the Montreal Alouettes and BC Lions. He was drafted by the BC Lions in the fifth round of the 1973 CFL Draft. He played college football at Youngstown State University. Florio also won the 20th Vanier Cup as an assistant coach with the Guelph Gryphons in 1984.
Alex Carroll is a Canadian football wide receiver for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League in 2015. He previously attended Queen's University where he played college football for the Golden Gaels and studied political science.
The Guelph Gryphons football team represents the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario in the sport of Canadian football in the Ontario University Athletics conference of U Sports. The Guelph Gryphons football team has been in continuous operation since 1950. The team has won one Vanier Cup national championship in 1984, which is also their only appearance in the title game. The Gryphons are the only program with a perfect record in Vanier Cup games. The team has also won four Yates Cup conference championships, in 1984, 1992, 1996 and 2015.

Tara Hedican was a member of the Canadian National Wrestling Team from 1998 to 2008. In 2001, she became the first Canadian woman to win a World Junior Wrestling Championship. Hedican was the recipient of the Tom Longboat Award in 2001. Hedican also won a Pan American championship in 2003. She was a dual-sport athlete at the University of Guelph where she competed in wrestling (2001–2004) and was inducted into the Guelph Gryphons Hall of Fame in 2016. Hedican completed her Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in History at the University of Guelph in 2016 and moved on to pursue a career in both teaching and coaching.
