Stuart Lang (born January 26, 1951 [1] ), a former Canadian football wide receiver, was the head coach for the University of Guelph's football team, the Guelph Gryphons, until November 2015. [2] Lang joined Guelph's coaching staff in 2009 as receivers coach before being promoted to head coach in March 2010. As a professional player, he played for eight seasons for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League, winning five Grey Cup championships. Collegiately, he played CIAU football for the Queen's Golden Gaels.

Thomas George Dimitroff Jr. is an American–Canadian football executive. He served as the general manager of the Atlanta Falcons from 2008 to 2020. Before joining the Falcons in 2008, Dimitroff was with the New England Patriots for six years. He joined the Patriots in 2002 as a national scout and then was named director of college scouting a year later.

The Guelph Gryphons represented the University of Guelph in the 2009-10 Canadian Interuniversity Sport women's hockey season. The Gryphons attempted to win their first Canadian Interuniversity Sport women's ice hockey championship. Their head coach was Rachel Flanagan, assisted by Kirsten Thatcher and John Lovell.

Rob Maver is a retired professional Canadian football Punter, having played his entire 10-year football career with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was drafted fifth overall by the Stampeders in the 2010 CFL Draft, after being highly ranked by the CFL's Amateur Scouting Bureau. He played Canadian Interuniversity Sport football for the Guelph Gryphons. He played high school football for Turner Fenton Trojans.

Alumni Stadium (Guelph)

Alumni Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium at the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. It is home to the Guelph Gryphons varsity football team. It was built in 1970, and has a fixed seating capacity of approximately 8,500, including fixed seating and the grass hill on the east side of the stadium. On October 27, 2011, it was announced that the stadium would undergo an $18 million expansion and renovation that will bring fixed seating capacity up to 7,500. It was also announced that an eight-lane track would be installed as well as synthetic turf for the field. In addition to football the Gryphons soccer teams also play their home games at the stadium.

Rudy Florio is a former Canadian football running back who played six seasons in the Canadian Football League with the Montreal Alouettes and BC Lions. He was drafted by the BC Lions in the fifth round of the 1973 CFL Draft. He played college football at Youngstown State University. Florio also won the 20th Vanier Cup as an assistant coach with the Guelph Gryphons in 1984.

Guelph Gryphons football University Canadian football team

The Guelph Gryphons football team represents the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario in the sport of Canadian football in the Ontario University Athletics conference of U Sports. The Guelph Gryphons football team has been in continuous operation since 1950. The team has won one Vanier Cup national championship in 1984, which is also their only appearance in the title game. The Gryphons are the only program with a perfect record in Vanier Cup games. The team has also won four Yates Cup conference championships, in 1984, 1992, 1996 and 2015.

Jeffrey "Jeff" Finley is a professional Canadian football defensive lineman for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. He was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes in the third round of the 2014 CFL Draft. He played CIS football at Guelph University and attended Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School in St. Catharines, Ontario.

Tara Hedican was a member of the Canadian National Wrestling Team from 1998 to 2008. In 2001, she became the first Canadian woman to win a World Junior Wrestling Championship. Hedican was the recipient of the Tom Longboat Award in 2001. Hedican also won a Pan American championship in 2003. She was a dual-sport athlete at the University of Guelph where she competed in wrestling (2001–2004) and was inducted into the Guelph Gryphons Hall of Fame in 2016. Hedican completed her Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in History at the University of Guelph in 2016 and moved on to pursue a career in both teaching and coaching.
