Career

Idhika Paul made her silver screen debut with Himel Ashraf's Priyotoma and gained immense fame for her role as Eti in the film. Her bubbly and spontaneous performance alongside Shakib Khan, won her love from Bangladeshi fans as they recognise her as Priyotoma.

Devdas is a 2013 Bangladeshi romantic period drama film based on the Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay novel Devdas. The film is directed by Chashi Nazrul Islam, who also directed the 1982 version and produced by Faridur Reza Sagar under the banner of his Impress Telefilm, based on the 1917 novel of the same name by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. The film is set in the early 1900s and follows Shakib Khan as Devdas Mukherjee, a wealthy law graduate who returns from Calcutta after 13 years to marry his childhood sweetheart, Paro, played by Apu Biswas. However, the rejection of this marriage by his own family sparks his descent into alcoholism, ultimately leading to his emotional deterioration and him seeking refuge with a courtesan, Chandramukhi, played by Moushumi.

Priyotoma is a 2023 Bangladeshi romantic action film. The film was directed by Himel Ashraf, and is the second he has directed. It was produced by Arshad Adnan under the banner of Versatile Media. The film story was written by late Faruk Hossain alone and Himel Ashraf jointly wrote the screenplay and dialogues with him. It is a tragic love story that left an indelible mark on Sumon's life, shattering his world and left him forever transformed, featuring Idhika Paul, Shahiduzzaman Selim and Lutfur Rahman George in the lead role.
