Kalyan Malik is an Indian music director and playback singer in Telugu cinema. Since achieving recognition through Chandra Sekhar Yeleti's film Aithe (2003), Malik has provided musical scores for many other films. His most recent works are composing for Oohalu Gusagusalade (2014) and as sound supervisor for Baahubali: The Beginning . He is known by various other names —Kalyan Koduri, Koduri Kalyan. [2] [3] [4]
Kalyani Malik was born as "Koduri Kalyani". [5] He born and brought up in Kovvur, [5] to Siva Shakthi Datta and Bhanumathi. He is the brother of music composer M. M. Keeravani and cousin to director S. S. Rajamouli, S. S. Kanchi and M. M. Srilekha.
His birth name was Kalyani. He suffixed Malik to his name, as he is a devotee of Lord Mallikarjuna of Srisailam, and uses the screen name "Kalyani Malik". [5] He is known by various other names — Kalyan Koduri, Kalyana Ramana, Kalyani Koduri, Kalyani, Koduri Kalyan. [2] [3] [4]
Malik started off as a chorus singer with his brother M. M. Keeravani's compositions. [6] [7] Later, it was with the song "Sannajaji Poova" from Yuvaratna, composed by his brother, that he was noticed as a full-fledged singer. After singing quite good number of songs for his brother, he started assisting his brother and learned the nuances of music composing. After gaining experience, his journey as a solo music director started with jingles, TV serials and finally the entry to the silver screen happened with Aithe . This was follow by albums such as Ashta Chemma , Ala Modalaindi , Golconda High School and Oohalu Gusagusalade . [8]

Chhatrapathi is a 2005 Indian Telugu-language action film co-written & directed by S. S. Rajamouli from a story written by V. Vijayendra Prasad & dialogues written by M. Rathnam. The film is produced by B. V. S. N. Prasad under Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra. The film stars Prabhas, Shriya Saran and Bhanupriya alongside Shafi and Pradeep Rawat played supporting roles. M. M. Keeravani composed the music, while Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao and K. K. Senthil Kumar handled the cinematography and editing.

The film is produced by A. Bharati under Sri Bharathi Enterprises. The story has a rugby union backdrop. Nithin and Genelia D'Souza star while Shashank and Pradeep Rawat play other crucial roles. In the film, two rival groups in a college—Science led by Prudhvi and Arts led by Shashank—fight for superiority through the game of rugby, until a local gangster Bhikshu Yadav takes over their college.

The film deals with underworld criminal nexus and hijacking. The film was shot simultaneously in Hindi as 50 Lakh (2007).

Magadheera is the feature film soundtrack of the 2009 Telugu-language period action film of the same name directed by S. S. Rajamouli. M. M.
