Leola is a town in Adams County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 287 at the 2020 census, down from 308 at the 2010 census. [4]

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 37.3 square miles (96.6 km2), of which 0.027 square miles (0.07 km2), or 0.08%, is water. [4]

Demographics

At the 2020 census, [3] there were 287 people, 119 households and 76 families residing in the town. The population density was 7.7 per square mile (2.97/km2). There were 167 housing units at an average density of 4.5 per square mile (1.7/km2). The racial makeup was 95.1% White, 0.3% African American, 0.3% Asian, 0.3% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1% of the population.

There were 119 households, of which 15.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.1% were married couples living together, 8.4% had a female householder with no spouse present. 33.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

20.5% of the population were under the age of 19, 2.4% from 20 to 24, 20.5% from 25 to 44, 28.9% from 45 to 64, and 19.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 48 years.

The median household income was $53,125 and the median family income was $74,583. About 7.7% of the population were below the poverty line, including 9.4% of those under the age of eighteen and 6.9% of those 65 or over.
