Film directors struggled to maintain the integrity of the film industry. They went on strikes to keep theaters from shutting down. In this year, Yvonn Hem bought another theater for $400,000. A list of films produced in Cambodia in 1974. From the 35 films listed, 2 films exist today, 7 have been remade, and 28 have not yet been remade.

Thavory Meas Bong (ថាវរីមាសបង) is a Cambodian melodramatic film of the late 1960s directed by Uon Kon Thuok of Korng Chak Pheap Yun. The film stars Kong Som Oeurn, Saom Vansodany, Vichara Dany and So Hean.

Tith Vichara Dany(Khmer: ទិត្យ វិជ្ជរ៉ាដានី) was a popular Cambodian actress who most likely made her debut in 1967. She starred in a majority of films, which include Thavory Meas Bong, Tep Sodachan, and Sovann Pancha, during the nation's golden age of cinema. She is often paired on screen with fellow actor Kong Sam-Oeurn. Other notable actors she started with are Chea Yuthorn and Vann Vannak. In only a span of at least seven years, she is credited with having starred in over one hundred films. Details of her life are relatively unknown, and she is believed to have perished shortly after the rise of the Khmer Rouge regime.

Saom Vansodany or Som Van Sok Dany was a famous Cambodian actress from the late 1960s until 1975. She was mainly featured and famous for her roles in melodramatic movies such as Thavory Meas Bong and Sovannahong. She married fellow actor, Chea Yuthorn before the communist era. Details of her life are relatively unknown and she is believed to have perished from overwork under the Khmer Rouge regime shortly after giving birth to her son, Thorn Tharith.

Virak Dara is a Cambodian actress primarily known for her roles in the 1960s and early-to-mid-1970s. In 1967 she starred as "Kong Rey" in Puthisean Neang Kong Rey, which is to date the biggest Cambodian movie ever made. Her most famous film is An Euil Srey An, released in 1971. Dara quickly became a fan favorite.
