Italian Left is a left-wing political party in Italy. SI was launched in November 2015 as a parliamentary group in the Chamber of Deputies, including Left Ecology Freedom (SEL), dissidents from the Democratic Party like Future to the Left, and splinters from the Five Star Movement. At its launch, SI included 32 deputies, who were soon followed by 8 senators, and 2 MEPs. SI was officially formed as a full-fledged party in February 2017, after SEL had chosen to merge into it in December 2016.
Popular Alternative is a Christian-democratic political party in Italy that was founded on 18 March 2017 after the dissolution of New Centre-Right (NCD), one of the two parties that emerged at the break-up of The People of Freedom. "Popular" is a reference to popolarismo, the Italian variety of Christian democracy. The party has been a member of the European People's Party (EPP) since its foundation, having inherited the membership of the NCD.
Federico Pizzarotti is an Italian politician who served as mayor of Parma from 2012 to 2022. Elected mayor as a member of the Five Star Movement, which he had first joined in 2009, he successfully ran for re-election in 2017 through a civic list, after dissent within the M5S. He was the first M5S mayor in a provincial capital of Italy, after being elected on 21 May 2012 with 60.22% of votes in a runoff election. He was re-elected with 57.87% of the votes.

The 2024 European Parliament election in Italy will be held on 8 and 9 June 2024, electing members of the 10th Italian delegation to the European Parliament as part of the broader 2024 European Parliament election from 6 to 9 June. It will be held concurrently with the 2024 Italian local elections.

Volt Italia is a progressive and eurofederalist party in Italy. It is an affiliate of Volt Europa and was founded in 2018.
