They have competed at the Winter Olympics twice, in 1998 and 2006. The national team joined the IIHF in 1992 and first played internationally at the 1993 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships. The team has frequently played at the elite division of the World Championship, often moving between there and the Division I level.

David Michael Satterfield is an American diplomat and U.S. Ambassador, who has served extensively in the Middle East, including the Persian Gulf area, Lebanon, and Iraq. He later served as a Senior Advisor on Iraq for Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and was Director General of the Multinational Force and Observers, the peacekeeping force for the Sinai Peninsula from June 2009 until August 2017. He was chargé d'affaires to Egypt from August 2013 to January 2014 and was subsequently Special Advisor to the Secretary of State for Libya. From September 2017 to June 2019 he served as the Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, and was confirmed as US ambassador to Turkey on June 27, 2019.

Byrganym Saryqyzy Aitimova is a Kazakh politician and diplomat who was a member of the Kazakh Senate from 2013 to 2019 and in 1996. She served as the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the United Nations, Cuba, and Solomon Islands concurrently from 2007 to 2013. Prior to her appointment as UN ambassador, she was the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan from 2004 to 2005 and then the Minister of Education and Science until Zhanseit Tuymenbayev replaced her on 10 January 2007. She served as Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Italy from 2002 to 2004, and ambassador to Israel from 1996 to 2002.

The embassy of Israel, now in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan opened in August 1992. The embassy of Kazakhstan in Tel Aviv, Israel opened in May 1996.

Michael Brodsky (diplomat) Israeli diplomat (born 1972)

Michael Brodsky is an Israeli diplomat. He was nominated as the next Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine on November 26, 2020. From 2015 to 2018 Brodsky served as the Israeli ambassador to The Republic of Kazakhstan. He was succeeded by Ms Liat Wexelman in September, 2018.

Liat Wexelman is the non-resident Israeli Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, concurrently serving in Kazakhstan where she is based. She succeeded Mike Brodsky.

Darhan Kaletaev Kazakh politician

Darhan Amanuly Kaletaev is a Kazakh politician who serves as the Kazakh Ambassador to Ukraine. Since October 12, 2020 to 30 March 2022, he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Moldova concurrently.
