Its neighbors, clockwise from the north, are Bang Bon, Chom Thong, and Thung Khru Districts of Bangkok, Phra Samut Chedi district of Samut Prakan province and Mueang Samut Sakhon district of Samut Sakhon province. Bang Khun Thian is Bangkok's southernmost district, and the only one bordering the Bay of Bangkok.

Nang Ta-khian is a female spirit of the folklore of Thailand. It manifests itself as a woman that haunts Hopea odorata trees. These are very large trees known as Ta-khian (ตะเคียน) in Thai, hence her name.
Phitsanulok Mansion or formerly known Banthomsinth House is the official residence of the Prime Minister of Thailand, located not far to the east from the government house in Dusit, Bangkok. The mansion was originally built at the behest of King Rama VI was and given to his aide-de-camp, Phraya Aniruth-deva.
Kong koi or Phi Kong Koi is a Lao and Thai jungle ghost. Their appearance is not easily characterized, but often described as a phantom with one leg. They move by hopping with one leg and shout, "Koi, koi, koi". Some people believe it has a fly-like tube mouth. Others describe it as looking like monkey or langur. Most agree this ghost is ugly and cannot climb trees, which is unusual in nature. It is believed that the Phi Kong Koi will suck blood from the toes of the sleeping traveler in the jungle; travelers should keep the feet together or cross their feet when sleeping to protect themselves.
Mae Sue is the guardian goddess and female ghost of infants, one of the benevolent guardian spirits in Thai culture. These female spirits are considered to protect whatever is related to their names. Mae Sue literally means Mother of Buying; when a baby is born it is believed that Mae Sue comes and buys the baby in order to keep it out of the reach of evil spirits. On the other hand, Mae Sue is also believed to be the cause of illness in children.
Wat Suwannaram Ratchaworawihan or usually shortened to Wat Suwannaram and Wat Suwan is a historic second-class royal temple in Bangkok located in Soi Charan Sanit Wong 32, Charan Sanit Wong Road, Siri Rat Subdistrict, Bangkok Noi District, Thonburi side, on the western bank of Khlong Bangkok Noi.
Wat Phet Samut Worawihan or popularly known as Wat Ban Laem (วัดบ้านแหลม) is an ancient Thai Buddhist temple in Mahā Nikāya sect of Samut Songkhram Province.
Khlong Chak Phra is one of the six khwaengs (sub-districts) of Taling Chan District in Bangkok's Thonburi side. It is the location of the district office.
