The Manipur State League is the highest state-level football league in Manipur, India. It has been organised since 2006 by the All Manipur Football Association under the Vision India program with guidance from the AFC and the AIFF. [1]

History

The league is a 17-team affair which is usually played on a home-and-away format over a period of several months. NISA from Thangmeiband have won MSL four times, and Tiddim Road Athletic Union won two times. [2] [3] [4] [5]

Manipur Premier League

The Manipur Premier League is the men's franchise football league in Manipur. The first season under the new league name started in 2023, organised by the All Manipur Football Association. [23] Southern Sporting Union (SSU) and Asufii Football Academy were declared the joint winners of the first season as the final match was abandoned due to crowd trouble. [24]

Founded in 1965, and nicknamed "Orange Brigade", the club made their I-League 2nd Division debut in the 2015–16 season. Winning the 2016–17 league, they secured promotion to the I-League.

The 2016 Manipur State League was the 11th season of the Manipur State League, the top-division football league in the Indian state of Manipur. The league began on 24 August 2016 and ended on 25 November with the final. NEROCA emerged as champions.

The League is organised by the All Manipur Football Association, the official football governing body of the state.

The Imphal Derby refers to the football match in Imphal, Manipur between NEROCA and TRAU. Both teams play at the Khuman Lampak Stadium in Imphal. Amongst the most successful clubs in Manipur, they have won a combined 20 honours: 10 for NEROCA and 10 for TRAU.
