The Miss Kentucky competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Kentucky in the Miss America pageant.

Contents

Only once has a Miss Kentucky won the Miss America crown, in 1999 when Heather French Henry of Maysville, Kentucky earned the national Miss America 2000 title. Additionally, Venus Ramey, a native of Somerset, Kentucky, was named Miss America of 1944 while competing as Miss Washington, DC.

Multiple Miss Kentucky titleholders have gone on to make themselves notable:

Hannah Edelen from Springfield was crowned Miss Kentucky 2022 on June 18, 2022, at The Brown Theater in Louisville. She competed for the title of Miss America 2023 at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut in December 2022 where she was Jean Bartel Social Impact Finalist and also voted as Miss Congeniality.

The Miss Arizona competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Arizona in the Miss America pageant. Arizona has twice won the Miss America title. The first Miss Arizona, Anna Marie Barnett, was crowned in 1938.

Mallory Christina Ervin is an American YouTube personality, former entertainer and former beauty pageant titleholder from Morganfield, Kentucky. She held the title of Miss Kentucky 2009 and was 4th runner-up to Miss America 2010. In September 2010, it was announced that she competed on The Amazing Race 17 with her father Gary Ervin. The Amazing Race was filmed in May and June 2010 and premiered on September 26, 2010. Gary and Mallory were also one of the teams to return for The Amazing Race 18, which premiered on February 20, 2011. Ervin returned to the race to join Mark Jackson in The Amazing Race 24: All Stars, after Jackson's teammate William "Bopper" Minton was deemed unfit to race due to health reasons.
