Mwingi North Constituency is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of eight constituencies in Kitui County. It used to be one of two constituencies in Mwingi District. The constituency was established for the 1997 elections.

The immediate former MP of Mwingi North MP was Kalonzo Musyoka, the former vice-president of Kenya. He had represented the Kitui North Constituency, which was split before the 1997 elections.

Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka is a Kenyan politician who was the tenth Vice-President of Kenya from 2008 to 2013. Musyoka served in the government under the late President Daniel arap Moi and was Minister for Foreign Affairs from 1993 until 1998; subsequently, under the late President Mwai Kibaki, he was Minister of Foreign Affairs again from 2003 to 2004, then Minister of the Environment from 2004 to 2005. He was an unsuccessful candidate in the 2007 presidential election, after which he was appointed vice-president by Kibaki in January 2008.

Mwingi District was a former district of Kenya, located in the now defunct Eastern Province. The district had a population of 303.828. Its capital was Mwingi town.

He is currently a senator representing Kitui County. Musila was a DO, DC and deputy PC between 1966 and 1979. In 1979, he was Moi's choice as PC for the troubled Central Province, a post which he retained until 1985, after which he became Director of Tourism. He retired from the civil service in 1988. He was elected as a KANU MP in 1997 and has remained in the house ever since, moving to the LDP wing of NARC in 2002, and was Deputy-Speaker in the 2003 Parliament. He was a KANU official in the 1990s and later became Deputy Chairman and then Chairman of the Liberal Democratic party (LDP).
