David Bostian (born May 25, 1999) is an American professional wrestler currently signed to WWE, where he performs under the ring name Myles Borne on the NXT brand and is a member of the No Quarter Catch Crew stable. He is the first and only partially deaf wrestler to be employed by the WWE.
Bostian was born in Wilmington, North Carolina with Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn which is a treatable condition but one of the major side effects of the treatment is loss of hearing resulting in Bostian being deaf. Bostian received hearing aids and would use an FM system while he was in school, allowing him to focus clearly on one person and read lips. Bostian became an amateur wrestler while he was in kindergarten and during high school, his record was 28-7, with 12 pins, one technical fall and six major decisions. Bostian was allowed to wear his FM transistor inside his earguards by the N.C. High School Athletic Association in order to be able to listen to his coach during his matches. [2]
On March 17, 2022, Bostian was announced among a class of recruits who reported to the WWE Performance Center to begin training with WWE. [3] Bostian made his in-ring debut under the ring name Myles Borne on the June 17, 2022 episode of NXT Level Up, where he lost to Guru Raaj. Over the next year, Borne would mainly compete on NXT Level Up mostly in losing efforts with only one win on his record against Ikemen Jiro on the October 21 episode of NXT Level Up. On the March 28, 2023 episode of NXT, Borne made his televised in-ring debut where he was defeated by Eddy Thorpe. [4] [5] [6] [7]
In September 2023, Borne would debut as the trainee of Drew Gulak, Charlie Dempsey and Damon Kemp, who bullied and berated him during practice. After being convinced by Fallon Henley to team up with Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen against Gulak, Dempsey and Kemp in a six-man tag team match on the September 12 episode of NXT, Borne turned on Briggs and Jensen and proved his allegiance to Gulak, Dempsey and Kemp, thus establishing himself as a heel. [8] [9] [10] The group would later be known as the No Quarter Catch Crew (NQCC) and under their guise, Borne would develop a winning streak on NXT Level Up defeating the likes of Tavion Heights, Riley Osborne and Trey Bearhill. On the November 23 episode of Main Event, Borne made his main roster debut in a losing effort to Apollo Crews. On the February 27, 2024 episode of NXT, Dempsey defeated The Meta-Four's Noam Dar 2–1 under British Rounds Rules for the NXT Heritage Cup. A week later at NXT: Roadblock, NQCC announced that the NXT Heritage Cup will be defended by the whole stable under the "Catch Clause". [11] Under the Catch Clause, NQCC as a whole referred to themselves as the NXT Heritage Cup Champions but WWE only recognize Dempsey as the official champion. [12] [13] [14] [15] [16] [17] On the April 16 episode of NXT, The D'Angelo Family leader Tony D'Angelo revealed that his Family were hired by NQCC to (kayfabe) eliminate Gulak. In reality, Gulak was written off following allegations from Ronda Rousey that Gulak grabbed her pants' drawstrings backstage in 2022. D'Angelo demanded payment for the job but NQCC refused, causing a brawl between the two factions [18] and resulting in a six-man tag team match between the two factions at Week 1 of Spring Breakin' , which was won by The D'Angelo Family (D'Angelo, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo and Luca Crusifino). [19]
In May 2023, Bostian got married to his girlfriend Jadyn. [20] [21]
