Natasha Joubert (born 24 July 1997) is a South African model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss South Africa 2023. She was previously the second runner-up in Miss South Africa 2020, and later represented South Africa at the Miss Universe 2020 pageant.
Joubert was born on 23 July 1997 in Pretoria. [1] Her father died when Joubert was a teenager, while her mother, Ninette, was a final year Bachelor of Laws student at the time of Joubert competing in Miss South Africa 2020. She is the youngest of three siblings. [1]
Joubert was raised in Centurion, Gauteng, and attended Hoërskool Eldoraigne. [1] Afterwards she enrolled in Boston City Campus and Business College, and received a Bachelor of Commerce degree in marketing management in 2020. [2] Prior to Miss South Africa 2020, Joubert worked as a public relations officer for a law firm and also was the founder and owner of the fashion design company Natalia Jefferys. [1]
Joubert began her pageantry career in 2016 when she competed in Miss Globe South Africa 2016. She won the title and went on to place in the Top 5 at Miss Globe 2016. [3]
In 2020, Joubert applied to compete in Miss South Africa 2020. On 11 June 2020, it was announced that Joubert had advanced as one of the 35 women selected to participate in further auditions. [4] She later was announced as one of the top fifteen semifinalists on 24 June, [5] [6] [7] and as one of the ten finalists on 5 August. [2]
Joubert competed in the finals of Miss South Africa 2020 on 24 October at The Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town. She ultimately advanced to the top five, and later to the top three. After reaching the top three, she placed as the second runner-up, behind eventual winner Shudufhadzo Musida and first runner-up Thato Mosehle. [8] [9] [10] [11] [12] [13] On 10 December, it was announced that Joubert had been designated by the Miss South Africa Organisation to serve as Miss Universe South Africa 2020. [14] She represented South Africa at Miss Universe 2020, but did not place in the top 21. [15]
In May 2023, Joubert's return to pageantry was confirmed, after she was announced as one of the 30 semifinalists for Miss South Africa 2023. [16] She later was selected as one of the 12 finalists for the Crown Chasers reality show, which determined the seven contestants who will compete in the final of Miss South Africa 2023. [17] In Crown Chasers, Joubert was included in the top three during all five episodes, including being selected as the episode winner for three episodes, and advanced to the televised final as one of the seven finalists. The final was held on 13 August, where Joubert advanced into the top five, top three, and top two, before ultimately being crowned the winner. [19] [20] In an interview after her coronation night, Joubert said that she would not compete internationally representing South Africa during her reign as she would rather fully serve her country as a Miss South Africa. In her capacity as Miss South Africa 2023, Joubert travelled to Mauritius, [22] France, [23] , Australia and various cities in South Africa.
Miss South Africa is a national beauty pageant in South Africa that selects South African representatives to compete in one of the Big Four international beauty pageants Miss Universe, and also selects another representative to participate in Sub-major international pageant Miss Supranational. The Miss South Africa organisation resorted to a contemporary format in selecting representatives which was inaugurated in 2018. Following their newer method, both a Miss World South Africa and a Miss Universe South Africa were selected as representatives. From 2021 onwards, the winner of Miss South Africa will be competing in Miss Universe, and Miss Supranational. The current Miss South Africa 2023 is Natasha Joubert. On May 11, 2023, the Miss South Africa Organisation has lost its license as a Miss World licensee holder to Carol Bouwer Productions, which has taken over the license of Miss World South Africa pageant.

Bryoni Natalie Govender is a South African model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe South Africa 2023 and Miss Supranational South Africa 2024. She was appointed Miss Supranational South Africa 2024 and Miss Universe South Africa 2023 after finishing as the first-runner-up at the Miss South Africa 2023. Govender represented South Africa, where she placed in the top 20, at the Miss Universe 2023 pageant by virtue of being the first runner-up as Natasha Joubert, the original winner of the pageant, previously competed at Miss Universe.
Miss Grand South Africa 2019 was the fourth edition of the Miss Grand South Africa beauty pageant, held on May 25, 2019, at the Atterbury Theatre, Pretoria. Nine candidates competed for the title, of whom a 23-year-old diploma in Public Relations from the Boston City Campus and Business College representing Gauteng province, Belinde Schreuder, was elected the winner. Meanwhile, the representatives of Johannesburg, Jeané Van Dam, and Limpopo province, Phomolo Bianca Tjie, were named the runners-up.
