Rockwall Independent School District is a public school district based in Rockwall, Texas (USA).

Contents

In addition to Rockwall, the district serves the cities of Heath, McLendon-Chisholm, Mobile City, most of Fate, and small portions of Rowlett, Wylie, Garland, and Dallas in Rockwall County. [7] The district also extends into a very small portion of northern Kaufman County, including sections of Heath and Travis Ranch. [8] A very small section extends to Collin County. [9]

In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency. [10]

History

Rockwall ISD was established in 1841. In 2012 the district had 14,427 students, and in 2013 it had a budget of $100 million and over 1,500 employees. [12] By 2018 the district has grown to 16,270 students, 2,268 employees and still operated on a budget of $100 million. [13]
