Cockburn Power Station (CKB) is a power station in Cockburn, Western Australia. The station was commissioned by Western Power Corporation in 2003 and is immediately south of the older Kwinana Power Station. It has a 160 MW natural gas powered Alstom GT13E2 gas turbine which provides steam to an 80 MW steam turbine that together generate a total 240 MW of electricity. It was the first combined cycle gas turbine power station in Western Australia. It came under the control of Verve Energy in 2006 when Western Power was split, and since 2014 has been under control of Synergy.

The official opening ceremony attended by Charles Hendry, Minister of State took place on 9 May 2011.

North Battleford Energy Centre is a natural gas-fired station owned by Northland Power located in the Rural Municipality of North Battleford, Saskatchewan located near the city of North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada. The plant is operating under a 20-year power purchase agreement with SaskPower. Construction started on the project in June 2010, and the plant commenced commercial operations on June 5, 2013. The plant was built by Kiewit Construction. Construction of the centre was expected to cost $700M.
Repowering is the process of replacing older power stations with newer ones that either have a greater nameplate capacity or more efficiency which results in a net increase of power generated. Repowering can happen in several different ways. It can be as small as switching out and replacing a boiler, to as large as replacing the entire system to create a more powerful system entirely. There are many upsides to repowering.

The plant is located in Strathcona County, just northeast of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada at the Scotford Upgrader site.
