Ts Madison is an American reality television personality and actress. With the reality show The Ts Madison Experience, she became the first Black trans woman to star in and executive produce her own reality series. [1] She has appeared in a variety of smaller films and some major television programs. [2]

Biography

A native of Miami, Florida, [1] Madison rose to fame in 2013 after going viral following the release of a Vine clip titled "New Weave 22 Inches.” The video features her exposing her nude body. [3] During this time, Madison was starring in adult films and running a successful production company. [4] On the LGBTQ&A podcast, Madison said she started doing sex work after being fired from multiple jobs for being trans. [4]

Madison signed a recording contract with Pink Money Records in 2014. In 2016, Madison released her debut album, The New Supreme, [5] [ third-party source needed ] and appeared with Ellis Miah and RuPaul on the song, "Drop". [6] [ non-primary source needed ] In 2021, she collaborated with Todrick Hall on the song, "DICK THIS BIG". [7] [ non-primary source needed ]

In 2015, she released her memoir, A Light Through the Shade: An Autobiography of a Queen. [8]

Madison has had smaller acting roles, such as in Zola and The Perfect Find on Netflix. [4] Madison also appeared in Bros , which was billed as "the first gay romantic comedy from a major studio". [9] Madison has made multiple appearances as a guest judge on RuPaul's Drag Race, later becoming a rotating regular judge in season 15. In 2019, Silky Nutmeg Ganache played Madison in the Snatch Game episode of RuPaul's Drag Race season 11. [10]

In 2021, The Ts Madison Experience debuted on We TV, making Madison the first black trans woman to star in her own reality show. Madison was also an executive producer on the series. [1]

Madison's voice is sampled on the song "Cozy" on Beyoncé's 2022 album Renaissance . [11]

Madison was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2016 Transgender Erotica Awards hosted by Grooby. [23] [24] In 2019, she was honored in the Out magazine Top 100 influential LGBT people. [25] In 2022, she won the WOWIE Award for Best Viral Moment. [26] In 2022, Madison and Dominique Morgan were chosen as the Grand Marshals of the NYC Pride Parade. [27]

RuPaul's Drag Race is an American reality competition television series, the first in the Drag Race franchise, produced by World of Wonder for Logo TV, WOW Presents Plus, VH1 and, beginning with the fifteenth season, MTV. The show documents RuPaul in the search for "America's next drag superstar". RuPaul plays the role of host, mentor, and head judge for this series, as contestants are given different challenges each week. Contestants are judged by a panel that includes RuPaul, Michelle Visage, an alternating third main judge of either Carson Kressley, Ross Mathews, or Ts Madison, and one or more guest judges, who critique their progress throughout the competition. The title of the show is a play on drag queen and drag racing, and the title sequence and song "Drag Race" both have a drag-racing theme.

Airline Inthyrath, known by her stage name Jujubee, is an American drag queen, reality television personality, and recording artist from Lowell, Massachusetts. She first rose to prominence in 2010 as a contestant on the second season of RuPaul's Drag Race, and later returned to compete on the first and fifth seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, and the first series of RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. the World (2022), becoming one of the most popular queens from the franchise. Chantaize Darius Jeremy Pierce, better known by the stage name Shangela Laquifa Wadley or simply as Shangela, is an American drag queen, reality television personality, and actor best known for competing on RuPaul's Drag Race. Shangela was the first contestant eliminated in season two, and returned as a surprise contestant in the series' third season, placing sixth. She returned once again for the third season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars where she finished in joint-third/fourth place alongside winner of the first season, BeBe Zahara Benet. Shangela has also made several television appearances and regularly performs across the United States and Canada.

Christopher Delmar Caldwell, also known by his stage name Caldwell Tidicue and better known by his drag name Bob the Drag Queen, is an American drag queen, comedian, actor, activist, musician, and reality television personality. He is best known for winning the eighth season of RuPaul's Drag Race. As of 2020, he has more than one million followers on Instagram and was the first Black Drag Race queen to reach the milestone. Kylie Sonique Love, formerly known as Sonique, is an American entertainer, singer, dancer, model and reality television personality. She rose to prominence as a contestant on the second season of RuPaul's Drag Race in 2009, and achieved further popularity by winning the sixth season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars eleven years later in 2021. Love was the first person to ever come out as transgender on any reality TV show. Upon winning All Stars 6, Love became the second transgender winner in the Drag Race franchise and was the first trans woman to win an American series of Drag Race. Additionally, in 2020, she co-hosted Translation Season 1, the first talk show on a major network hosted by an all-trans cast. Her first single, "Santa, Please Come Home", was released in 2018.

Silky Nutmeg Ganache is an American drag performer from Chicago, Illinois, who came to international attention in 2019 when she competed on the eleventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race finishing in third place, and later competed on the sixth season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars in 2021. She has also been involved in numerous Drag Race spin-offs, including RuPaul's Drag Race: Vegas Revue (2020) and RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race (2022). She also competed in the first Canadian-based international All Stars spin-off series, Canada's Drag Race: Canada vs. the World in 2022, finishing as a runner-up.

Brita Filter, the stage name of Jesse Carl Havea, is an American drag queen who has appeared on Shade: Queens of NYC and the twelfth season of RuPaul's Drag Race, ultimately placing 8th.
