Kota Bharu colloquially referred to as KB, is a town in Malaysia that serves as the state capital and royal seat of Kelantan. It is situated in the northeastern part of Peninsular Malaysia and lies near the mouth of the Kelantan River.
University of Putra Malaysia, abbreviated as UPM, is a Malaysian public research university located in Serdang, Selangor. Formerly it was named Universiti Pertanian Malaysia, focusing on agricultural sciences and related fields. The Kelantan River is a major river in Kelantan, Malaysia. It drains a catchment area of about 11900 km² in north-east Malaysia including part of the Taman Negara, and flows northwards into the South China Sea. The rainfall over the area varies between 0 mm in the dry season (March–May) to 1750 mm in the monsoon season (November–January). The average runoff from the area is about 500 m³/s.
Sultan Ismail Petra ibni Almarhum Sultan Yahya Petra was the 28th Sultan of Kelantan and the 11th Sultan of Modern Kelantan who reigned from 30 March 1979 to 13 September 2010. He succeeded on the death of his father, Sultan Yahya Petra. He died at the Royal Ward Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital in Kota Bharu on 28 September 2019, aged 69, after 10 years of suffering from a massive stroke and was buried at the Kelantan Royal Mausoleum. He was succeeded by his eldest son, Sultan Muhammad V who ascended the throne on 13 September 2010.
Sekolah Menengah Sains Tengku Muhammad Faris Petra is a premier government-funded secondary boarding school in Pengkalan Chepa in the state of Kelantan, Malaysia, for selected students aged thirteen to seventeen. Its students bear the name Farisian. The school is named after Tengku Muhammad Faris Petra, Kelantanese prince.

A 760-bed teaching hospital is located on campus. This is the Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM).
East Coast Economic Region(ECER) (Malay: Wilayah Ekonomi Pantai Timur; Jawi: ولايه ايكونومي ڤنتاي تيمور) is an economic development region based on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, which covers the states of Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang, and the Johorean districts of Mersing and Segamat. ECER is also one of the three economic corridors launched in Peninsular Malaysia under the leadership of Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, the fifth Prime Minister of Malaysia. The other corridors are Iskandar Malaysia in Johor and the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER) that covers the states of Penang, Kedah, Perlis and Northern Perak. The ECER development program spans 12 years, beginning in 2007, and involves Public-Private Participation (PPP).

Kota Bharu–Kuala Krai Expressway also known as the People's Expressway, is a state expressway that is under construction in Kelantan, Malaysia. It was planned as a national expressway, but was constructed as a state expressway because the federal government dropped out of the expressway project several times since 1990; consequently, the expressway will be the first state-owned controlled-access expressway once completed. Nevertheless, the project was gradually integrated into the Central Spine Road 34 project by 2015.

He served as the Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of Religious Affairs for the second term in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and former Minister Idris Ahmad from August 2021 to the collapse of the BN administration in November 2022 and the first term in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and former Minister Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri from March 2020 to the collapse of the PN administration in August 2021 as well as the MP for Bachok from May 2013 to May 2018.

He served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bachok from May 2018 to November 2022 and for Pasir Mas from May 2013 to May 2018. He is a member of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a component party of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) and formerly Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalitions.
