Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj ibni Almarhum Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah was a Malaysian statesman and lawyer who served as the first prime minister of Malaysia and the head of government of its predecessor states from 1955 to 1970. He was the first chief minister of the Federation of Malaya from 1955 to 1957. He supervised the independence process that culminated on 31 August 1957. Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management & Technology Non-profit private university in Malaysia

Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management & Technology, abbreviated TAR UMT, is a non-profit, private university in Malaysia. Named after the country's first prime minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman, the school was founded in 1969 as Tunku Abdul Rahman College by the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA). On 2 May 2013, it officially became a university college under the name Tunku Abdul Rahman University College and in 2022, the institution was upgraded to a University, changing its name to TAR UMT.
