The Seoul Metropolitan Subway is a metropolitan railway system consisting of 23 rapid transit, light metro, commuter rail and people mover lines located in northwest South Korea. The system serves most of the Seoul Metropolitan Area including the Incheon metropolis and satellite cities in Gyeonggi province. Some regional lines in the network stretch out beyond the Seoul Metropolitan Area to rural areas in northern Chungnam province and western Gangwon province, that lie over 100 km (62 mi) away from the capital.
Seoul Subway Line 5 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway, dubbed the purple line, is a long line crossing from west to the east across the Seoul National Capital Area, South Korea. It is one of two subway lines in Seoul to cross under the Han River, which is done at two points. The main line runs through to Hanam Geomdansan Station while the branch line from Gangdong Station terminates at Macheon Station. In 2019, Line 5 carried an annual ridership of 334 million or about 915,000 passengers per day.
Seoul Subway Line 6 is a line of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway. The route connects Eunpyeong-gu and Jungnang-gu in a U-shaped manner, running through Yongsan-gu and Seongbuk-gu. It does not cross the Han River. It is mainly used to connect to the northern outskirts of Seoul and to relieve the traffic on other lines.
Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation (SMRT) was established in 1994 to operate the Seoul Subway lines 5, 6, 7, 8 in Seoul, South Korea.
Oksu Station is a railway interchange station on the Line 3 and the Gyeongui–Jungang Line. It was opened in 1985 and is located near the confluence of the Han and Jungnang Rivers.
Anguk station, also known as Hyundai E & C station (Korean: 현대건설), is a subway station on the Line 3 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway. Seoul Subway Line 9, operated by Seoul Line9 Operation, is a subway line in Seoul, part of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway. The line runs east from Gaehwa station or Gimpo International Airport station along the south bank of the Han River towards VHS Medical Center in Gangdong. In 2019, Line 9 had an annual ridership of 225 million or about 616,000 people per day.
Geumho Station (Korean: 금호역) is a station on the Seoul Subway Line 3 in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, South Korea. The name of the station literally means "golden lake", although there is no lake to be found today in the neighborhood of this station. The short piece of road under which this station is built is situated between two consecutive road tunnels nearby.
Apgujeong is a rapid transit station on Seoul Subway Line 3. It is located in Apgujeong-dong in the Gangnam-gu administrative district of Seoul. It has a pair of underground side platforms. The station has connections to 15 buses through 6 exits. It services Sinsa-dong and Apgujeong-dong. The area is named after a pavilion frequented by Han Myung-hoi, whose pen-name was Apgujeong, and its sub-name comes from the nearby flagship Apgujeong Main store of Hyundai Department Store.
Sinsa station is a station on the Seoul Subway Line 3 and the Shinbundang Line. It is located in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu and Jamwon-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul. It will serve as the northern terminus of the Wirye–Sinsa Line when it is opened in 2025.
Hoehyeon Station (Korean: 회현역) is a station on the Seoul Subway Line 4. It is the closest station to the historical gate of Namdaemun, and also serves the major shopping district of Namdaemun Market. This station is located in Namchang-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul.

Dongguk University Station (Korean: 동대입구역) is a station on the Seoul Subway Line 3 located in Jangchung-dong 2-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul, Seoul. As its name indicates, it serves the nearby Dongguk University. In addition, Jangchung Gymnasium, an indoor sports arena most famous for hosting ssireum matches on holidays, is outside Exit 5. It is also the closest station to Shilla Hotel.
Nowon station is a station on the Seoul Subway Line 4 and Line 7. The station on Line 4 is elevated whereas the station on Line 7 is underground, owing to the elevated tracks of Line 4 between Danggogae station and Chang-dong station. In addition, the two stations are far apart, making passengers walk a considerable distance for transfers.
Express Bus Terminal Station is a station on the Seoul Subway Line 3, Line 7, and Line 9. The stations are located in the Greater Gangnam Area, Banpo-dong, Seocho District, Seoul, Korea.
Konkuk University Station is a rapid transit station on Seoul Subway Line 2 and Seoul Subway Line 7. It is located in Hwayang-dong in the Gwangjin-gu administrative district of Seoul. It is adjacent to Konkuk University from which it takes its name. Line 2 is serviced by an elevated platform while Line 7 is serviced by an underground platform. The station has connections to ten bus lines through its six exits as well as a connection to the airport shuttle bus. The station services Hwayang-dong as well as Jayang-dong and Noyu-dong. The area around the station is mixed residential and small commercial businesses. Exits from the underground Line 7 platform open into Konkuk University and the adjacent Star City shopping and high-rise residential tower complex.
Beomgye Station is a station on Line 4 of the Seoul Subway network. It is between Geumjeong station and Pyeongchon station, in a newer area of Anyang, Gyeonggi-do and, heading away from Seoul, it is the last underground station on this line. It opens at 4:30 A.M. Beomgye Station features an area known as "Beomgye Rodeo," which is well known for its shopping, active nightlife, and array of traditional Korean restaurants. It is connected to a Lotte Department Store and Newcore outlet. Lotte Department Store has been open since 2012. There are 9 exits. There are exits 1, 2, 3, 4, 4-1, 5, 6, 7, and 8.
Seongsu Station is a rapid transit station on Seoul Subway Line 2. It is located in Seongsu-dong in the Seongdong-gu administrative district of Seoul. It is also the southeastern terminus of Line 2's Seongsu Branch to Sinseol-dong. Trains needing to be serviced take the Seongsu Branch from this station and go to the Gunja Train Depot behind Yongdap Station.
Gyeongbokgung station is a subway station on Line 3 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway. It is the subway station nearest to the Gyeongbokgung Palace. The station is also near the Government Complex–Seoul, the National Police Agency of South Korea, and other administrative buildings in the neighborhood.
Incheon Subway Line 2 is a driverless, medium-capacity subway line running 29.2 km (18.1 mi) from Oryu-dong in Seo-gu to Incheon Grand Park, with 27 stations, part of the Incheon Subway system. The line is also included as a part of the overall Seoul Metropolitan Subway network; Juan station has a free transfer with Seoul Subway Line 1, Geomam station connects with the AREX Line to Incheon International Airport and Seoul Station, and Seongnam also has a free transfer with Seoul Subway Line 7.
