Yantai railway station is a railway station located in Zhifu District, Yantai, Shandong, China. It is a terminus for local trains and some high-speed trains. Other high-speed services call at Yantai South railway station instead.

History

The railway station was opened in 1958.

Reconstruction of the station began on 6 September 2007 and was completed on 16 May, 2009. An official ceremony for the new station took place on 16 August 2009. [1]

The railway is 393 kilometres (244 mi) in length and connects Qingdao, on the Jiaozhou Bay, and Jinan, the provincial capital of Shandong. Adolph von Hansemann and other German financiers funded construction of the railway, then known as Schantung Eisenbahn Gesellschaft, which began September 23, 1899, and was completed in 1904. Since the quadruple tracking of this corridor with the opening of the parallel Qingdao–Jinan passenger railway, the line is mostly used for freight with some conventional passenger services.

Qingdao–Rongcheng intercity railway is a high-speed railway located in China's, Shandong Province. It travels along the Shandong Peninsula connecting to Qingdao and Rongcheng. Line length is 298.842 km (186 mi). The design speed is based on 250 km/h (155 mph) service. However, it has been reserved for the line to be upgraded, if warranted, to 300 km/h (186 mph). Construction consisted of a three-month preparation period, a building period of 27 months and with a joint testing and commissioning period of six months. On December 28, 2014, the Qingdao–Rongcheng intercity railway opened from Jimo to Rongcheng. The whole line opened on November 16, 2016.

Tianjin–Weifang–Yantai high-speed railway is a high-speed railway currently under construction in China. The railway will have a design speed of 350 kilometres per hour (220 mph). Weifang–Yantai section of the railway is expected to open in 2024 and Tianjin–Weifang section is expected to open in 2027.

Weifang North railway station is a railway station in Hanting District, Weifang, Shandong, China. The station is on the northern edge of the urban area. The more central Weifang railway station is on the Qingdao–Jinan railway and the Qingdao–Jinan passenger railwayIt is an important node of the national "four vertical and four horizontal" high-speed railway network and an important external transportation hub for Weifang City in the future. Weifang North Station will be connected by the Jinan Qingdao High Speed Railway, Beijing Shanghai Second Channel, and Weilai High Speed Railway. The urban rail transit lines 1 and R1 will form transfers here and connect to the railway system, jointly building a comprehensive transportation hub in the northern region of Weifang, achieving seamless transfer between railways and subways, and integrating municipal facilities.

Yantai South railway station is a railway station located in Laishan District, Yantai, Shandong, China. Unlike the older Yantai railway station, this is a through-station. It opened with the Qingdao–Rongcheng intercity railway on 28 December 2014. It will be served by Tianjin–Weifang–Yantai high-speed railway in future.
