Mankhurd is a railway station on the Harbour Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. It is the last stop on the line on Salsette Island before leaving for Navi Mumbai on mainland Maharashtra.

The township lies on the Harbour Line and is the last stop in the city before Navi Mumbai. After Mankhurd, trains cross the Vashi Bridge before reaching Vashi, in Navi Mumbai. Mankhurd also has a railway line run by the Bombay Port Trust.

Unlike many of the railway stations in Mumbai, which have 'east' and 'west' sides, this station has a 'north' and 'south' side on either side of the railway track. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre's employee township "Anushakti Nagar", Naval Employee's Township, Mandala and Trombay are some nearby accessible places from the south side of this train station and P.M.G.P. Colony, Mohite-Patil Nagar, Sonapur, Mandala are some nearby accessible places from North side. BEST (Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport) public buses serve this station. Metered and non-metered auto rickshaws are common sight outside the station. There is a civil colony- SPDC Colony located about 2 kilometres away from the station road.

Thane Creek is an inlet in the shoreline of the Arabian Sea that isolates the city of Mumbai from the Konkan region of the Indian mainland. Juinagar is an area in Navi Mumbai of Maharashtra state in Konkan division. It is also the name of a railway station on the Harbour Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway. Railway colony is the biggest colony in Juinagar though much of the residential blocks belong to the CIDCO and a few other private housing societies. The main market is near Sadguru Hotel and Suyog Arcade - which is the most prominent complex in the area. On the whole, Juinagar is a small but self-sufficient township having excellent connectivity to Vashi and Nerul. Of late, the sprawling of a multi-facility hospital named Mangal Prabhu and a new petrol pump at the main market has made life more convenient for the dwellers.

The Sion Panvel Expressway is a 25 km Indian highway located entirely in the state of Maharashtra, that connects Sion in Mumbai with Panvel, via Navi Mumbai. It is one of the busiest and most important roads in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and connects Mumbai with the city of Pune. The National Highway 4 and Mumbai-Pune Expressway begin at the eastern end of the expressway, at Kalamboli junction, near Panvel. The highway is also used by vehicles traveling towards Mumbai from Konkan and Goa.
