The 1999 Arizona Wildcats baseball team represented the University of Arizona during the 1999 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Wildcats played their home games at Frank Sancet Stadium. The team was coached by Jerry Stitt in his 3rd season at Arizona. The Wildcats finished 33-23 overall and placed 3rd in the Pacific-10 with a 13-11 record - the only time during Coach Stitt's tenure they would finish above .500 in conference play. The 1999 season season marked the 1st time that the Pac-10 did not play in divisions, as Portland State's discontinuation of baseball following the 1998 season caused the Northern Division to shrink to only 3 members (compared to the Southern Division's 6).

Contents

Arizona was selected into the postseason for the 1st time since 1993 as the 3-seed in the Waco Regional. They subsequently lost their first 2 games to 2-seed Minnesota and 4-seed Eastern Illinois to be eliminated from the tournament. This would be the only tournament appearance of Stitt's head coaching career and would be the last for the Wildcats until 2003.

Previous season

The Wildcats finished the 1998 season with a record of 30-25 and 13-14 in conference play, finishing 4th in the "Six-Pac" (Pac-10 Southern). Arizona missed the postseason for the 5th straight season and 2nd time in Jerry Stitt's tenure.

The 2021 Arizona Wildcats baseball team represented the University of Arizona during the 2021 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Wildcats played their home games for the 10th season at Hi Corbett Field. The team was coached by Jay Johnson in his 6th season and final season at Arizona. Following the season, Coach Johnson was hired as the head baseball coach at Louisiana State University. The Wildcats ranked 10th in Collegiate Baseball's preseason poll - their highest preseason ranking in any poll since 2013 - and their incoming recruiting class was ranked 4th in the nation by D1Baseball. On May 23, the Wildcats clinched at least a share of the Pac-12 Championship for the first time since the 2012 season that saw the team win the College World Series. Following a 3-11 loss by the Oregon Ducks to the California Golden Bears on May 28, the team clinched their first outright Pac-12 title since 1989. On May 30, Hi Corbett Field was selected as one of the NCAA's 16 postseason Regional sites for the first time since 2012. The following day the Wildcats were selected as the tournaments No. 5 overall seed - their first selection as a top 8 seed since the implementation of the current seeding system in 1999 - marking their first postseason appearance since 2017. On June 6, the Wildcats defeated UC Santa Barbara 5-2 to win the Tucson Regional and advance to their first Super Regional since 2016 when the team forged their way to the College World Series finals. The Wildcats would go on to defeat Ole Miss 2 games to 1, to advance to their 18th College World Series appearance all-time. They subsequently were eliminated in two games, losing to the defending champion from 2019, No. 4 seed Vanderbilt as well as Stanford.

The Wildcats played their home games for the 11th season at Hi Corbett Field. The team was coached by Chip Hale in his 1st season at Arizona. Previous head coach Jay Johnson - who had been with the program for 6 seasons - was hired during the offseason as the head coach at LSU, filling the vacancy left by the retirement of Paul Mainieri. The Wildcats finished 5th in the Pac-12, but were selected into the NCAA tournament for the 2nd straight year for the first time since 2016–17. This was the Wildcats' worst conference record during Kindall's tenure as well as their 2nd worst overall record. This marked the program's 2nd straight season finishing with a losing record, the first time this had occurred since 1983–1984. For only the 3rd time under Kindall's leadership, Arizona missed the postseason for a 2nd consecutive season.

The team was coached by Jerry Kindall in his 22nd season at Arizona. The Wildcats finished 15-40 overall and placed 6th in the Pacific-10's Southern Division with a 7–23 record. The Wildcats' 15 wins were the fewest the program had in a single season since winning only 12 games in 1949. This season also saw the team finish with the lowest win percentage in program history (.273). Arizona both finished with a losing record and missed the postseason for 1st time since 1991.

The team was coached by Jerry Kindall in his 21st season at Arizona. The Wildcats finished 35-26 overall and placed 3rd in the Pacific-10's Southern Division with a 16–14 record. Arizona reached the postseason for the 2nd straight season and the final time in Jerry Kindall's tenure and were placed as the 3-seed in the Midwest Regional, which was hosted by Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. After falling into the loser's bracket with a loss to Auburn in their 1st game, the Wildcats rallied to win their next 3 against North Carolina State, Fordham and Oklahoma State. The team was ultimately eliminated 1 win short of a College World Series appearance with a 10–11 loss in the regional final to host Oklahoma State.

The team was coached by Jerry Kindall in his 12th season at Arizona. The Wildcats finished 22-36 overall and placed 5th in the Pacific-10's Southern Division with an 11–19 record. Arizona missed the postseason for the 4th straight season, marking at the time the longest drought in program history; this would later be surpassed by a 5-season stretch from 1994-1998. This also marked the 1st time the program posted 2 consecutive losing seasons.

The team was coached by Jerry Kindall in his 11th season at Arizona. The Wildcats finished 25-31 overall and placed 4th in the Pacific-10's Southern Division with an 14–15 record. Arizona missed the postseason for the 3rd straight season, tying at the time the longest postseason drought in program history, set on 3 occasions.

The 1982 Arizona Wildcats baseball team represented the University of Arizona during the 1982 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Wildcats played their home games at Wildcat Field. The team was coached by Jerry Kindall in his 10th season at Arizona. The Wildcats finished 32–21–1 overall and placed 3rd in the Pacific-10's Southern Division with an 15–13–1 record. Despite posting records above .500 both overall and in conference play the Wildcats missed the postseasons in 2 consecutive seasons for the 1st time since 1972–1973.
