Mitchel Air Force Base, also known as Mitchel Field, was a United States Air Force base located on the Hempstead Plains of Long Island, New York, United States. Established in 1918 as Hazelhurst Aviation Field #2, the facility was renamed later that year as Mitchel Field in honor of former New York City Mayor John Purroy Mitchel, who was killed while training for the Air Service in Louisiana.

Hazelhurst Arts Centre, also known as Hazelhurst Regional Gallery & Arts Centre, Hazelhurst Gallery and Hazelhurst, is an arts complex located on Kingsway in the suburb of Gymea, in southern Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is the first public arts centre of its kind in Australia and sits on 1.4 hectares of gardens. The complex includes two art galleries, a theatrette, art studios, meeting rooms, gift shop and café as well as the gardens. The facility is also available for hire as a function centre. Hazelhurst opened on 22 January 2000. Architects for the building were Michael Bennet in partnership with Esther and Trevor Hayter. The garden designs were by Oi Choong.
Hazlehurst station is an Amtrak intercity train station in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, United States, served by the City of New Orleans passenger train. The station, an unstaffed flag stop, consists of a single platform with a small shelter, located next to the old Illinois Central Railroad Depot, which was built in 1925 and is now occupied by the Hazlehurst Depot Museum.

Camp Albert L. Mills was a military installation on Long Island, New York. It was located about ten miles from the eastern boundary of New York City on the Hempstead Plains within what is now the village of Garden City. In September 1917, Camp Mills was named in honor of a former Superintendent of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Major General Albert L. Mills, who had suddenly died the year prior in September 1916. Mills was awarded the Medal of Honor for gallantry during the Spanish–American War.

Hazelhurst is a historic house located at 150 East Genesee Street in Skaneateles, New York. It was originally a small summer home built for William Loney about 1866, and enlarged and renovated in 1904. It had an extensive lawn stretching down to Skaneateles Lake, which was later split up into 30 separate building lots that now share a common lake access. Hazelhurst is a three-story, irregular plan, Queen Anne style balloon frame dwelling. It features a wraparound porch with Ionic order columns, multiple gabled roof, porte cochere, and corner tower with conical roof. The mansion is now used as a 14-bedroom home for the elderly called "The Athenaeum".

The 1946 Denver Pioneers football team was an American football team that represented the University of Denver as member of the Mountain States Conference (MSC) during the 1946 college football season. In their sixth season under head coach Cac Hubbard, the Pioneers compiled a 5–5–1 record, shared the MSC title with Utah State, and were outscored by a total of 182 to 179. They played in the 1947 Alamo Bowl, losing by at 20–0 score to Hardin–Simmons.
