The James Lynaugh Unit is a state prison for men located in Fort Stockton, Pecos County, Texas, owned by operated by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. [1] It opened in September 1994, and has a maximum capacity of 1416 male inmates at various security levels.

The unit is situated at Harlem Road and Ken Drive, on about 940 acres (380 ha) of land, co-located with Carol Vance Unit, Jester III Unit, and Jester IV Unit which lie a little to its southeast. It is situated on the Jester State Prison Farm property. The current Warden is Lonnie Townsend.

Holliday is along Interstate 45 and .5 miles (0.80 km) north of Texas State Highway 30. The unit, on a 1,412-acre (571 ha) plot of land, is co-located with the Wynne Unit.
Dempsie Henley State Jail is a Texas Department of Criminal Justice state jail for women located in unincorporated Liberty County, Texas. It is located on Texas State Highway 321, 5 miles (8.0 km) north of Dayton. The 9.8-mile (15.8 km) road is located in Pecos County and connects the James Lynaugh Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) to Interstate 10 (I-10) and U.S. Highway 67 (US 67) west of the city of Fort Stockton while passing through the town of Belding.
